Bear in mind that capitalism isn't evil, but rather the people who utilize it. At its core it's wholesome: work to get ahead, manage your own affairs, and what you earn is yours.

Of course, the existence of foreign systems are readily available to these capitalists to abuse: cheap labour. Then we have businesses, such as Apple, who rise to the top, earn loyalty, then abuse that loyalty by arranging scams such as this.

"Soda cans no longer come with tabs! They're far too outdated. Here, buy this tiny soda can opener for $79.99. It's the size of a pea and looks like a rock."

So... without capitalism, we have nothing. Perhaps a better system exists out there, but we've yet to find it. It's not its principles that make it flawed, but the people who run it. No matter the circumstance, someone will always be in an immoral position: the lordship, the "socialist organiser", the capitalist - but at least one allows anyone (under it) to progress forward.

lol, in the U.S., people are crazy about owning guns for reasons I don't understand. Gun control is a mess here. I wouldn't be surprised if a clown ends up getting shot.

lol :P

Yes, this has been an issue lately in the US. As I recall, it began in either California or Florida, and media coverage has inspired copycats.

I don't think they're killing anyone, but yes, as mentioned previously, they are asking to be shot.

Maybe something like what Neopets had?

It could be fun - their icon system was unique. If you're going to implement a battle system, it may be worth researching that.

What about knife throwing though? It's kind of the precursor to guns. We should really be watching out for ninjas.

Wario kinda looks like a clown anyhow.

My thoughts exactly.

Tell us how you feel today, Rean. That is not a question, it is a command that may or may not implicate an authoritative position over you.

That is a bizarre mating call.

Edit: it is delayed in its ability to formulate responses.

* properly sanitize/truncate database inputs so the board can run in strict SQL mode without exploding. (it's already sanitized, but just enough to avoid SQL injections, mind you)

What do you mean exactly? Prebuilding the sanitized queries rather than generate them every request? Perfectly fine, especially if it's private software.

find ways to make extra money.

Have you ever considered freelance? Indie developers will consume you for dinner once they've found out you've made functioning editors for Nintendo games, such as Mario.

* buy Chateau Secession.

When I look this up I get a bunch of wacky European stuff (you crazy French!). What is it?

add shit to my TODO list. it obviously isn't full enough.

9DS development, tbh.

Why not something a little fun? Treat yourself to some game you've been curious about, and let us know about it. I envision "reviews.kuribo64.net", complete with its own crappy forum (parallel to this one, of course)

Seriously though, there's money to made in enterprise-level web stuff. Some of the greatest things have come about as little projects from bored college students.

But yeah, I've said before, you've proven time and time again to possess the knowledge needed to build applications people would want to use. I want to see you do something good with it.

I know nothing of Python but this looks suspicious:

SyntaxError: invalid syntax

Either you're using invalid keywords in your code, or putting something wrong in with the compilation parameters. Is there some version of Lint for Python?

Also, it's not really anything wrong, but it may serve to help if you set the compiler up as an environment variable and pre-write the compilation steps as a batch script.

Remember when I applied to Ubisoft? A good portfolio doesn't matter. Professional experience is the only goddamned thing that matters in this world.

Hmm, I actually didn't know that. It's a pretty cruddy place, anyway.

That's something I've often pondered. "Experience required". Well, if it requires experience, but noone's offering a chance to gain experience, what the heck are you supposed to do?

I'm really sorry. I hope you find a break. If not, I hope you find something entry level. If I had any connections hiring then I'd try to put you through.

To note... I don't mean startups, but little things like FaceBook, or Neopets. I mean there's potential in randomly bored ideas--not something to depend upon. More that there's value in such things.

Looks interesting.

However, that controller design tells me we won't be getting F-Zero on it, so that's a disappointment. Also, is it just me or were there some serious framerate issues on the handheld part, when Breath of the Wild was being played?

I saw the Breath of the Wild thing too.

Hmm, why the F-Zero thing? Clearly the tiny controllers can play Mario Kart. I wonder if they can attach to eachother.

Also, splatoon:

It's going to be a bit weird with the characters looking so different, but I haven't played it in about a year anyway.

I just find it peculiar that mainstream outlets/citizens now questioning the electoral college system. Hello? We've had about 300 years of these elections on planet earth. I'm not necessarily talking about any of you (I haven't read most of the comments), but the fact that so people are just now finding out how the election system works, and that it's suddenly issue to voters who had their candidate lose? That says too much.

As a person with Multiple Citizenship, I took the time to research both candidate's policies and really determine what was best for the nation. Independent of "Hillary kills people", and "Trump hates Mexicans", I took into consideration their past convictions (if any), what they stated in their policies, and could easily see past the media bias, celebrity endorsements, and nasty political ads. It was no competition.

As for this awful election, I wouldn't blame the American people entirely for this ordeal. It was fixed to get Hillary in, and in addition to possibly trying to get the one person Hillary could beat against her, Trump basically won the support of the older generation who actually cared to vote. It ended in a way noone expected, but hopefully that's for the better. We'll all be watching America the next four years, and we'll see if Trump is a good president.

In the future, take time to adequately review candidates, campaign for them, and vote. Not "I'm not voting for Trump because... his policies (?)/he's a meme" or "Hillary killed people/corrupt politician" - do the research yourself. I was absolutely disgusted by the nation with this campaign. Not because they were mindlessly stating facts that were untrue, but for the ones that were, they knew no background information other than whatever statement they heard on the news/Laci Green's twitter.

It's just the fact that I have a Muslim friend who's legitimately fearing for her life because Trump won. She thinks she can't go through with here marriage, and that Trump wants to deport/harm Muslim citizens. WTH?

From what I've seen here, (now having read some comments) most of you seem to have done your own research, so that's very nice. Keep it up, and hopefully we'll do better next time! Reject the fear mongering, educate yourself, and (God willing), we'll have a good president in the US again someday.

Alright guys here is a demo preview of whomps fortress. It is not a precise remake as they are two different games :-)

This level contains tons of exploration though. Not everything is shown in video...

I still need to fix clipping and camera precision :D

You may give critiscism so I can make it better :D

I'd say it's a very good rendition of Whomp's Fortress, and I'm surprised just how well th egame handle's Mario 64 levels.

I do think you could put Prongos in place of Whomps. I also think you should restore the stairs found in the northern most slope with the Twhomps. I'm also pretty sure you could get the retractable platforms on the center tower working?

Other than that, perhaps you could replace the Star Coin spawn in the west with a note trail as in Super Mario Galaxy 2. And maybe there's an opportunity to place a warp box at the top of the tower, and introduce a fight with Boom Boom either "inside" the fortress, or on its "underside" as in Super Mario Galaxy 2?

And for completely unnecessary additions, you could include the side sections from Super Mario 64 DS (or the cloud platforms Galaxy used), and SMG2's bonus island.

Regardless, it's a very good level. I love it.
