Almost two years have passed since the last release of SM64DS Editor (SM64DSe for short). As you may already know, annoying issues with model importing, combined with the lack of interest for SM64DS hacking, have destroyed my motivation to work on it.
Now, the impossible has happened. Someone is actually interested into SM64DS hacking enough to try messing with SM64DSe's code. Said person is Fiachra, at GBAtemp. He took the latest code from the SM64DSe repo, and started by turning the experimental text viewer into a functional text editor. Interested to see what he can achieve with SM64DSe, I gave him write access to the SM64DSe repo. He then committed several interesting changes regarding model importing/exporting. I will likely commit some more changes too. With the help of blank, we will work towards fixing the collision issues when importing models. I really hope to be able to release a new SM64DSe version soon enough. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

Huh. Well, maybe we could add a new tab linking to the old board, which could be reopened. I'm glad that it's not officially dead after all! Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

Wow, this is really nice . This will surely help me with my SM64DS hack
But I feel like a lazy badass, now. Probably I should study C# too. I really appreciate your work on this, Fiachra, Mega-Mario, Skelux and blank |

Posted by Stygmax I'll rather add SM64DS forums to this board. The old board is separate from this one and runs off outdated ABXD software. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

Ok. So it'll still have its own tab or will it just be a sub-board of the main forums? Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

Alright. This is kinda off topic, but did Dirbiao make ABXD just for us? Do any other forums (besides the old Kuribo64) use it? Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

ABXD was originally made by Kawa; you can read some of the history here.
Development has been continued by Dirbaio because Kawa has lost interest in it. And there are several boards running off ABXD so it's not just made for Kuribo64. Besides Kuribo64's software is customized. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

Examples of ABXD boards: NSMBHD, Kuribo64, Rydia's Lair, NSMBWD, SMS hacking forum, etc. ____________________

Hi, Fiachra here, glad you like the changes.
I've nearly got the level models' geometry exporting: If I can get that working properly it should be possible to compare the game's kcl collision data with that generated by re-importing the level and see what the problem is. Although that may not be neccesary as I think Mega-Mario, blank and others are making good progress on that. (https://kuribo64.net/?page=thread&id=128&from=20) Posted by Homer Currently you can import custom models for non-animated objects, such as brick blocks. Importing custom characters would require modifying the bca animation files, though that should be possible in the future as Gericom has it working in his MKDS editor. |

Nice! I'll be looking into your code to try and help you fix the issues.
Also guys, please don't respond to derp/spam posts like that. Next time I have to delete posts en-masse, I will be handing out some bans to accompany it. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |
