SMG2 needs a debug mode so we can know what is crashing our levels, I keep deleting the wrong things and it still crashes, it drives me crazy.

It would be a big pain to program, but it could work. It would just take a little while.

You don't just add a debug mode.

Could people please stop going "it could be done, it would just be hard" whenever somebody sugests something that requires modifications of the actual game code, unless they at least have an idea of what they are talking about.

If you want to debug your levels, you can try playing them in Dolphin's debug mode. To start it, type "Dolphin /d" at the command line. From there, if your level crashes, you might be able to see the registers at the time it crashed. Post them here, and I might be able to help. Also, sometimes when a level crashes in Dolphin, you get an error message saying that says "LR=" followed by an address. If you give me that address, I might be able to help as well.

I realize how hard it is to actually modify the game's code through what MN1 taught me. I know what I'm talking about when I say something is or isn't possible, or overly complicated.

But you had no idea what you where talking about, as you apparently think it's possible to just add a debug mode.

If you think you can add a debug mode, I seriously doubt you know what you are talking about.

EDIT: MN1's suggestion is probably the closest you can get to a debug mode.

I find it kind of funny how people ignored my advice and went straight to arguing with each other.

What MN1 said is so much easier than writing a debug script; this argument is pointless and SSL's problem has been resolved.

I don't have Dolphin because I don't know where to get a SMG2 iso, and when I ask everyone says "illegal!". :/

Rip it with CleanRip. That's legal.

It's about debugging SMG so yes. For GC games it's different. They weren't popularized with ISOs like the wii was
