Talk about files or fileformats in SMG here if you want to know something new! I begin: What does BTK files do? Is it a kind of animation? |

Posted by Rainbow Mario YES, BTK FILES ARE ANIMATIONS. They're a type of texture animation, that is (obviously) not supported by BMDView2. BTP animations switch textures (as you presumably already know), and BTK animations scroll, slide, move, and distort textures. Used for lava, poison, and flowing sand, among other things. I know someone who might be able to crack the format open (along with numerous others), but I'm still trying to convince him to give it a shot. He says he might someday, but for now there are other things that are higher in his priorities. |

I'll try to make a copy of the BDL for my model then copy the code from a BTK and paste it to the copy of the BDL then rename the copy to "MyModel.btk" to get the animation, but I'm almost sure that it won't work. |

Posted by Rainbow Mario That does work, provided the BDL and BTK were taken from the same ARC. That's how I got Eye Beamers into SMG2 (Well, sort of - I faked them in SMG2). |

Hmm. A problem is when other things than BDL, KCL and PA is in the ARC. The game can't read that the BTK will have with the BDL to do. |

Posted by Rainbow Mario wat The game automatically recognizes a BTK in an ARC just as it does a BDL or KCL, the diferrence being that custom BDLs and KCLs are possible, while custom BTKs aren't...yet. |

I really hope it'll work.
Another thing... I looked in the _____GalaxySound file. It looked exactly as a Map file with the jmp folder and PlaceElement, Objinfo, AreaObjInfo etc. Then I open the ObjInfo in the BCSV editor and it had x y z coordinates, rotations, scales, objargs, SW_Appear etc. exactly if it would be a Map file. Why is it so if it's a Sound file that have with the sound to do? |

The list of the file format you write was just known files.
BTW, can GHST files be edited? |

Posted by Rainbow Mario No. I'm going to try it...eventually. Problem is, custom models crash a lot for me ANYWAY, so that could bias the test result. |

Posted by Rainbow Mario A nintendo BDL with its accompanying BTK worked. A custom BDL with materiak names matching a nintendo one and a nintendo BTK corresponding to the nintendo BDL being mimicked...I'd be surprised if that worked, but I'm tempted to try it some time. |
