When I heard that Galaxy 2.5 was shut down, I was more than a bit disappointed, as I'm sure a lot of you were too, but I see this as an opportunity to take the tools and information learned from its wake to tackle General SMG Hacking much more efficiently. Ever since I learned of the split-screen mod for Galaxy 2, I've been wanting to tackle the concept of co-op oriented Galaxy levels, but I didn't want to take focus off of 2.5 development. So now that 2.5 is no longer being worked on, perhaps a new, smaller-scale project focused on split-screen can be in order, if one wasn't being worked on already that is.
Split-screen mod video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNA7_hEpVNc My proposal is a 1 World hack that is built solely around a Mario and a Luigi playing together. I chose to do 1 World for a variety of reasons: 1. It's something that can be played and completed in a day, fitting with the tone of a split-screen game. 2. We can make more challenging levels right out of the gate, as opposed to toning down the difficulty to fit the progression of the game. 3. We can tackle everything split-screen has to offer without stretching it out. 4. It's simply easier on the team, and allows more focus on individual levels. This Mod idea is open to both completely custom levels and new Missions for existing ones alike. Got a cool Fire/Ice Flower concept for Shiverburn Galaxy? Great, we'll use it! As long as the mission or level is made with 2 players in mind, that's great. Are you interested in the project? Already have a co-op level and want to contribute it? Did I post on the right board? Literally 15 seconds into the video they say "I must stress, this ISN'T finished" and do not give a download link (that link is for someone's re-upload of the video, and the download link given is fake.)
