Just wanted to put this out there, but that Forest Kingdom place (if I remember correctly, I think its local name is "Kogswold") looks a lot like Planet Wisp from Sonic Colors. The resemblance is uncanny.

Maybe It's because there is more than one "bowser Jr.'s" and "reactor" in the file for different galaxies. Should those interfere with everything? Maybe the file is somehow changing in size?

I don't get it. I used Captain Grabbin' to extract the .arc, I was only able to extract it with WiiXplorer. I now used HxD to edit the BMG. I got the original BMG again, but this time tried to replace 1 letter for each "toy" (changed "toy"s to "tot") I used Aurum's patch template from here: https://kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?id=1605 I only added:
<folder create="true" recursive="true" disc=/UsEnglish/MessageData" external="/smg1/UsEnglish/MessageData"/>
but it still soft locks! How even.

Super Mario Galaxy is a finicky game. Stupid, am I right? It's probably hardcoded into place. The game expects it to be a certain name or it goes nuts. If it might be of any use, edit the name of the galaxy you wish to change in the *.DOL file; that might work. But I'd rather you not. Save yourself the trouble and port the galaxy and its planets to SMG2. It'll save you a lot of headache. Even better, just use that game only, importing from SMG1 as needed but using SMG2's engine.

I think faking Kamella would be possible, actually.

How would that come to be? Could you give us a possible suggestion?

Or you could try to make your planet NOT replace another model. It might work and there is some tutorial out there on K64 for doing just that.

IIRC you problem was a bug in an outdated version of Nuntius Novus. Get the latest version if you haven't already.

Can't wait for this man! You know there's a BCK editor now made by that guy [user=StarF0x]. Try that one on your stream (assuming you can get and understand Maya by the stream time.

Make all of the dialogue in SMG2 "TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL..."

You get the idea.

I remember posting a thread here to see what game you'd like to see ported to the Wii from another console, and by far the most overwhelming response was for a port of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Well, guess what?

After a while of deliberating, I have started, as of yesterday, to start making said port. This will take up much of mine and my team's time and resources, so expect very sparse updates here but a lot behind the scenes. Any progress will be shown in this thread and added to the original post.

Also, since porting a game is hard, let alone by yourself, I'm starting a recruitment Skype chat room to build up a team to complete this monstrous task.

There will be several DEDICATED positions needing to be filled [ * marks necessary positions and (*) positions are to be determined or may not be needed]:
* Modelers to optimize all of BOTW's geometry (at least 5 people).
* Texturers to optimize raster images like textures, UI elements, and logos as well as create new graphics specific to a Wii port like a Wii Menu banner(at least 3 people).
* Animators for transferring animations (at least 4 people).
* Sound engineers to extract and convert music and sound effects of the game (at least 2 people).
* Reverse engineers to disassemble and decompile the game's main executable so a Wii port can be written, as well as crack file formats from the game (at least 6 people).
* General designers for adapting various aspects of the game to the Wii like control schemes, choosing a game engine should a direct port be impossible, implementation schemes and other stylistic aspects (about 3 people).
(*) Game engineers for implementing assets and physics into a 3rd-party game engine should a direct port be infeasible/impossible (about 4 people).
(*) Beta testers will be requested as necessary through campaigns and will not needed until later date (amount TBD).
(*) Miscellaneous positions that may crop up at a given time (amount TBD).

PM me and I'll speak to you personally before adding you to the chat.

Feel free to post your feelings and comments on the project as replies to the thread.
I hope things go swimmingly from here from now on out! :)

(Also if you admins have any problems concerning this thread or the project itself, send me a PM and I will try to make things right.)

Then just change the textures. It'll work for what you need to do.

Wow. This seems like a huge project. I'm not able to help, but I wish you luck. I can't wait to see what'll come out of this!

Also, will be able to apply mods like this?
Yes, you will most likely (probably through Riivolution, as I plan for the game to be meant to be burned to a disc to be played, similar to how actual Wii games are.)
Posted by iyenal
Yes, maybe the informations I told in the poll thread can be useful for the port.
Also, JakoNintenCraft, we thought in the SMG2ANU developers group that we maybe will do a level based on Breath of The Wild, where I will do mesh optimizations, so I can send it to you when I will finish it. But do you think that you will find all the people you need, and they work with you during all the duration of the project ? But don't forget that you will enter in the history if you succeed.

I can maybe try to do some things for models and sounds for this port.

Thank you for your interest. Should you want to help with things, send me a PM for what you want to do.

On other notes there are a couple of things I have in mind for this project and I need some feedback:

Should I do a Kickstarter/Patreon page? Yeah, way too early for this.

Should there be Wii Port-exclusive content or just BOTW's original stuff?

Should I also post this project on a larger board to gain more developers and feedback? If yes then where?

Feel free to comment and answer. Also I need dev team members! Are you up to the challenge?

riivolution doesn't support burned games however, so

What I mean is I mean make the game like a factory-made one by reverse engineering the Wii's copy protection and then making the copy work so that mods can run like we have for the PC (via CEMU), Wii U, and Switch (soon-to-be).

If that doesn't work then a bootloader or otherwise can do it, but I hope option #1 works out in the end. :)

I'm sure people would love to donate to something which doesn't have a single inch of progress.

Point taken. No crowdfunding (yet).
