I went directly to C++, mostly because it's applicable to console homebrew / ASM hacks and not just desktop apps. It still is my go-to language for desktop apps, because I've liked it enough to have no reason to go to Python. I definitely don't want to use C#. because it seems to be pretty cumbersome to use on Linux.

While I don't personally have it lying around, if you post the SHA256 hash, someone that does have it should be able to verify whether you have the right one or not.

Right now I'm using Arch Linux with the XFCE desktop environment.

Yeah, I started with Budgie, didn't like its lack of customization, and then went to KDE because it seemed cool and super customizable, but it was really sluggish on my hardware. After at least trying XFCE, though, I've really been liking it.
(And yeah, I should probably clean my package list, considering my installation has been through, like, 4 different desktop managers.) ____________________ Website | Twitter |

Windows 10 Creators Update can block Win32 apps if they’re not from the Store
Oh, goodie, Microsoft is imposing Mac-like restrictions in an attempt to make people use the store. I wonder if this says something about the future of Windows? ____________________ Website | Twitter |

Posted by Yami Yeah, I think the only real way to match the convenience of Linux package managers would be via a command line utility or a simplistic GUI for each action (Install package, update everything, etc.). And, the latter wouldn't work for what seems to be their new(?) target demographic, people that have to have their hand held when using it and just want it to work, like what Apple goes for with iOS. And even with the GUI, it still wouldn't be as useful since, like you said, Windows Store just doesn't cover nearly as large of a scope of software in terms of system related things. I can't say I'm too upset, though, since the more Microsoft makes it's OS less appealing to the programmer / tech savvy type of person, the more attention goes to making programs cross platform. ____________________ Website | Twitter |

Posted by Yami I know something like that is possible with the UWP, but I mean cross platform as in non Windows platforms like Linux. ____________________ Website | Twitter |

Posted by SuperMarioFan1225 It's a scam, those prices are way too high for what you're getting. You might even be able to get a DS flashcart for cheaper, which will be more useful. There's more info about this in the OP at the top edit. ____________________ Website | Twitter |
