Well, it's not the switch ID's that I don't get. I'm confused on how to choose where the switch area will occur. Am I supposed to walk through the area in the game? If so, how do I place it in whitehole?
For instance, a chomp. How do I set up a SwitchArea so the chomp will be there? I give the area a SW_A of 1 and the chomp a SW_Appear of 1 and it doesn't work. |

I am. I place the area in whitehole and set the SW_A and nothing happens when I walk through it in game. |

Sorry for all these questions, but I'll just try to make my main ones clear.
Where do I place a SwitchArea in order to activate a switch? Also, does a Chomp require a SwitchArea for it to actually appear? |

How do you edit a MiniGalaxy.arc? I want to replace the MiniRedBlueExGalaxy object with a new model. |

Okay, what about the .bck file that comes with it? Do I need to do anything to it? |

Well I got a freeze at the file select screen.
I'm trying to have a model from Sketchup as the bdl. I scale the model down to the size of the real MiniRedBlueExGalaxy model, then obj2bdl my model. Then I put the BDL into a folder named MiniRedBlueExGalaxy and Rarc Pack it, and it crashes. |

Okay I tried a BDL of a Bob-omb, scaled it up in Sketchup, and it worked.
So I guess this means my custom model BDL is messed up. But I don't know what it could be just by looking at it. |

Splitwirez: Maybe. I took a fraction of the model to reduce the number of vertices, but it still didn't work.
GalaxyHacker: I did that already, and it worked. |

Well, I'll just try to solve it myself, and I'll come back if I need more help. Thanks for your attempts to help, GalaxyHacker.
I have another question now. Is there a way to make scrolling textures - such as moving lava - for custom models? I've seen the thread Jesse made about it being possible, but I want to know how to do it. |

Okay, and how exactly do I extract BTK files, and what do I use to hex edit them?
Sorry for the noob questions, but I have no experience in this part of SMG hacking. |

Sorry for the huge bump, but I'm having an issue with whitehole 1.1.3.
I added a new zone, and added paths to that zone. But for some reason, every time I click on a new path that is in my new zone, whitehole freezes, and I have to shut it down with Task Manager. However, I can click paths in the zone I didn't make just fine, and any object in my new zone works fine too. Only the paths don't. This problem just started happening today. Does anyone know what's wrong? |

It didn't really work. I can place a new path and click it fine, but once I save and exit whitehole then return, it freezes every time I click a path in my new zone. |

When I made my first custom level, Stygmax told me:
Posted by Stygmax Could someone please explain how I can do this? EDIT: Never mind, didn't realize NWPlayer had an already made multi slot XML. |

So I've been working on something for the past, uh, I don't know, 2 - 3 months. And here it is! This is a remake of Super Mario 64 in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Why did I want to do this? Well, my first custom level was a remake of Bob-omb Battlefield, but it was very clearly a beginner's level as there were barely any interesting gimmicks and techniques used. But now that I understand hacking this game a bit better, I can make better looking levels, or at least I think they look better.
I'm planning on creating all 15 original courses from Super Mario 64, and the 3 Bowser stages into Super Mario Galaxy 2. I have a few levels being worked on right now, so here are some screenshots. So yes, those are a few levels that will be in the hack. Right now, there are still some levels being worked on. But I do have one that you can try out, which is Bob-omb Battlefield. Here's a demo. It has all stars including Green Stars changed, a custom banner, mini galaxy icon, and text. Note that the Green Stars have new names, so if you enter another galaxy, those Green Stars will have the name as well since I simply changed the Green Star name in the ScenarioName. https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=oRvEsH0VQWxemxVW Finally, I need to say that all of the levels replace Flip-Swap because I'm not sure if any other galaxies would work with all the items I am using. I'm not sure how I could make all the levels work together, so ATM they are all separate. |

1. Is the 4th picture of Bob-omb Battlefield an example of what you mean by weird textures? It's probably because of the triangles in the model, but that's the way I got the model when I ripped it from SM64DS. I made it in Sketchup, so I don't know if other editors make better looking models...
2. What exactly is shading, and how do I do it? 3. Have you ever played SM64? The levels are pretty bland, but work for N64 physics. I tried to keep my levels as similar as possible, so I didn't add THAT much stuff. Oh, and in some pictures, there is more stuff but the game camera isn't showing them. |

Could someone explain how to set up a camera for a pipe that instantly moves to the location the pipe places Mario? Like normally, the camera would quickly scroll over to where the pipe is going, but in some places like Rightside Down Galaxy, the camera instantly pops up to the location. |
