(personal reminder thread)

* setting SW_PARAM doesn't work
* RARCs packed by some third-party tools cause Whitehole to fail

Another one.
-Using Edited ANARCHY levels do not load in Whitehole.

That's interesting. Could you provide me some Anarchy-edited files that break?

I hope it's not my string reading code being picky again. >_<

It's everything. If you save a file in anarchy and replace it in ObjectData with the folder you use for Whitehole, it doesn't even open it in whitehole.

Also, if I unpack and then repack a Nintendo map file, Whitehole crashes when loading it.

If you use Anarchy and save a file, it doesn't use the yaz0 compression it needs, and Whitehole doesn't have very good exception handling for that so it only reads Nintendo's files, which are yaz0 compressed. So of course it wouldn't load in whitehole.

Nope. Whitehole doesn't recompress files when saving either, and it reads those uncompressed files fine.

The issue is probably somewhere else. Again, I don't have Anarchy, and don't quite feel like hunting for a download link atm, so if someone would kindly give me one or two files that were edited with Anarchy, it'd be cool.

Can't help you with any Anarchy edited files, but this is the extracted and repacked file that crashed Whitehole.

Thanks. Going to look into it.

Edit- seems to be due to the way the RARC was repacked. Whitehole seems to fail to parse the directory tree properly...
Edit2- the RARC packer is faulty. The root directory is named 'redblueexgalaxymap' instead of 'stage' as Whitehole expects.

Seems that SMG doesn't care about the RARC's root folder name at all. Next release of Whitehole will fix this issue.

In the meantime, I could give you the current WiiExplorer build. It supports renaming folders, so you could use it to rename the RARC's root folder.

How do you plan to release the source? GitHub? Would love to peak at it and see how it mounts ISOs.

Then it's sort of my fault. The extractor actually extracts to a directory named 'Stage', which I then renamed. But yeah, SMG doesn't seem to care about the root folder name.

Yep, Github. I'll do it when the code is ready... or well, heck, why not now?

(well, 'now' meaning when I'm back home :P )

Yep, that's what I figured when I remembered the filepaths I've seen in SMG's code, too. Next version of Whitehole will ignore root directory names too.

Awesome!

GitHub is the best place to host repos. Best of yet, I'm pretty sure it uses a custom version of Twitter Bootstrap, that awesome CSS and web framework. (+ it's open source). I recognize the UI.

I am assuming that all of these weird glitchies are caused by the lighting?

Either that, or some weirdass shader bugs. The Koopas in Supermassive Galaxy are rendered fine here. Well, they don't have shading, but they aren't that bright.

Polari- Do you have the latest graphics renderer?
Well, tell me what you render your graphics with.

For some reason, nothing happens when I press the Open Galaxy button. I have a full ISO and a Mac like Polari. Java RE7u10.

Nothing happens, as in, no folder selection dialog appears?

No, all of the galaxies appear when I select the folder, just nothing happens when I click on them and the editor doesn't open. I think it might be related to the recent Java update I accepted.

No.
It either means that the ISO you have is corrupted, or you didn't do it right :P
(Which is why I said, check to make sure that the files aren't all 0 KB)
