I think some people noticed that the Object Database is very...unorganized and filled with lots of objects that don't even exist and some objects are still missing. I moved all non-existent objects to the "Deprecated/Useless Objects" category along with some crashing ones. I think we should remove all objects except the crashing ones, as they seem to have some code left and could be fixed somehow.
More categories would be also nice to see:
~ Skies & Airs: Contains all galaxy backgrounds and airs
~ Powerups: All Powerups along with Yoshi and his fruits
~ Unfinished: Contains all crashing objects
~ Switch Areas: All switch areas
~ Switches: All normal switches (e.g. the lever)
~ Effects: All effects
~ Decoration: All decoration

List of missing objects - SMG1
CrystalSwitch - Zelda Crystal Switch
HitWallTimerSwitch - Purple Wall Switch
PTimerSwitch - P Switch

RevolvingWay - Unfinished Ring Planet
UFOBlueStarCupsule - Blue Star UFO
KillerGunnerTriple - Bullet Bill & Chomp Launcher

DragonHeadFlower - Dragon Flower

Yeah....about that. All SB did back when he created the list was make a script that dumps all the -unique- objects from all the maps, I assume those are in some place other than AreaObjInfo, ObjInfo or MapParts and that's why they weren't added. Or the program derped, one of the two.

Well, "Decorations" can just fit all of that into 1, getting rid of useless categories.
~ Powerups: All Powerups along with Yoshi and his fruits

Fits in with items. Plus, there aren't enough to have it get it's own category.
~ Unfinished: Contains all crashing objects

Why would you give somebody an XML for Whitehole with objects that will crash??
~ Switch Areas: All switch areas

Once again, no need for a million categories when it can all be one.
~ Switches: All normal switches (e.g. the lever)

Too small of a list.
~ Effects: All effects
~ Decoration: All decoration

Both of these are fine in it's own category.

There are three reasons you would want broken objects.

1. Because they could be fixed.

2. Because they are interesting.

3. Just for the sake of not missing anything out.

Exactly.
Also new categories would be very useful, because the database is VERY UNORGANIZED.

It is hard to find backgrounds. I must look in other galaxies everytime. Powerups should have their own categories too. Same with switches.

You think that's hard? Try modelling a planet as good as one of Nintendo's! Now THAT's hard for you.

2746 objects.

If you want to see it nicely organized, go ahead. Good fucking luck.

And it was even worse before, when the count was over 3000.

That, because I dumped objects from some object name/description lists, and not from the levels.

What do you want to say with this?
EDIT: There are many SMG1 objects that don't even exist (e.g. Poihana) in SMG2, while some objects from SMG1 which exist in SMG2 aren't listed there.

So?
We aren't going to go all the way of editing the entries just to say it's in SMG2 as well, when they can just look into one of your threads or something.

The only real solution is to make a custom xml when the database is finished.

Is somebody here suggesting that nobody enjoys trawling through thousands of objects to categorise them?
(Not sure if I'm being ironic or not, or not).

Congrats, you figured that out.
