As long as the file size has the correct amount of GB (1,35GB) it should work, 'cause then (and just then!) the gamecube will recognize it as a regular game. So if your hack will have 1,35GB, it should work, I think. If so, I definitely will try it out!

I really appreciate your effort and hope, that you will be able to realise this! Would be awesome for the purpose of reviving SMS on the original GameCube in my opinion. Nice tutorials on youtube btw
