I found this place 3 years ago some time ago and started lurking... I took the plunge and registered for nothing but for having a small space here and dunno, not act like a retard in a new community. I have done my fair share of that in several others.

See you later? lol

new Firefox feature: if you activate a username or password field on a HTTP page, it sticks a big paranoid warning under it whining about how the evil h4xx0rs are going to steal your credentials

the CA lobby is pushing, and I refuse to give in

Just wait until they plaster the "This page is insecure because of reasons no one but the geeks will read about" page on every http site before you even enter it.

after: focus the username field, OMG THIS SITE IS INSECURE EVIL HAXXORS WILL STEAL YOUR PASSWORD!!!!!!!1111 but the nice handy username list is GONE

Really? I use Developer Edition and I still get the listing on http pages. Then again that's stuff that you can change with about:config (security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled and signon.autofillForms.http to allow autofill again) but that is still shitty to do.

I'd pay a good sum to have rainy days over here. Every day all day feels like a summer day here with the scorching heat yet I'm developing a cold because my coworkers set the AC to 16°C and I'm next to it. Setting it to 20° or even 18° makes everyone scream about it and I'm the first one to blame because I'm next to it.

Every time they go to eat, I turn it off for an hour then turn it on again. It feels good to have a decent temperature, though.

What does that guy win by doing that (besides an ego boost)?

I find it very useless to pull that stuff for no benefit. Sadly a lot of people think that they'll make the victim think "I'm boned, fuck" but lol.

Unrelated: Don't you have a Dynamic IP? Every decent ISP does give one.

Anyway, this shows that giving out the Blargboard code was a terrible idea. Not only do the idiots get the proxy protection for their own, but they abuse that protection's mechanisms.

I'd check Spamhaus too since that's where all the cool kids are now. A long shot but doesn't hurt.

[...] involving some outside service in your petty board wars is very irresponsible. It also shows you're out of means and you have absolutely nothing better to do. [...]

It's a kid (I think it is. I can't see that childish behaviour on a grown person unless they're that kind of retarded.) They don't have access to the good stuff or they do but they're skids and have little to no idea on how to use it, lol.

Is there any actual reason to switch to Spamhaus tho, or is it just "SFS is so 2015!" hipster bullshit?

Both. An actual reason is that Spamhaus is "more curated" according to some people I talked with years ago. I have no idea if it still stands on that now (or if it's true) but if it is, it should (probably) be better than a 2km long list of "Russian Kitchen Spammers," but if I was in your place, I'd rangeban Russia, China, Ukraine, and every other country full of spammers and spambots instead of relying on a list that may be gone without reason or that may be manipulated without moderation (although the same can be said of Spamhaus, lol.)

Did it really took them that long to make it? The announcement is so out of place that it competes with the Game Boy Micro one. Then again, the Game Boy Micro one was announced on a E3 and not out of the blue like this.

I'm still buying one to replace my old release day 3DS, though.

so supposedly there is this ransomware going around and it's fucking everyone over.

so i guess after these long years i'm finally going to install some windows updates

see you in 2018 (seriously i have so many updates i need to install)

Some people recommend this tool to mass install updates: http://update7.simplix.info/

It's in russian apparently but a good number of people in MDL vouch for it. (Note: I haven't tested it, so I can't really say if it's good.)

Also, the way they stopped the infections is both genius and borderline retarded (a hardcoded domain, lol)

Want to hack a New 2DS LL at launch?
Better wait a little longer, it comes with a firmware version, that's not publicly available yet.

The latest firmware released is 0.25.5, which is 11.4.0 on retail 3DS systems.
The New 2DS LL came with 0.25.18. Downgrading not possible.

Calling it, 12.0.0 at least.

That would have been a 0.26.x firmware, which is not the case here.

Oh, I have no idea how dev firmware is numbered so I assumed that it was a 12.x retail because of the small jump from .5 to .18. I'll assume that is 11.5 at the very least. Thanks for the correction.

I'm having doubts about the spoiler button styling in my layout. I'm not even sure if it's styled correctly in every "modern" browser (I only have Firefox Dev on this machine so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

test spoiler

well it looks okay here, the borders are hard to distinguish tho

it should be okay in every browser unless you're using cutting-edge features

I actually removed the borders on the button (and almost everything but the codeblock and the bottom of the topmost quote) and made it "flat" because I wanted a simple but working layout. I'll probably have to install other browsers (or find good portable ones) to test the layout anyway.

I was talking about the borders of the spoiler itself actually-- you know, the dotted border that shows how far it goes.

anyway, your layout's pretty nice :)

Oh, I removed the borders and used a transparent background to speak for itself... Is it too faint to see?

Posted by RanAS
You really don't need to use other browsers to test your layout in as long as you don't use experimental or in-development features. You can search any CSS rule and more in sites like this one to see if it's well supported or not.

Well, cross-browser button styling is a real drag, like webkit/blink browsers adding an ugly 3px blue border when a button is pressed (that can be styled with more css). And the most "experimental" feature I'm using is styling the text selection.

Is it possible for [any] Nintendo console to get a virus?

Just a thought...

Well, there's Trojan.DSBrick.A and Trojan.DSBrick.A AKA DarkFader's fuckup (and the main reason why FlashMe became popular iirc.)

meanwhile, Windows 7 is cozy

but, you know that someone went and ran Windows 10 in a VM with all the spyware and crap disabled?

and, surprise, it still sends shit.

Some Windows 7 updates give it the same telemetry shite as Windows 10, sometimes even worse (and then there's the update changes but that's another story). You could think "Oh, I'll just skip them," but no, some of those updates are tagged as critical so the system most probably will install them whenever you want or not.

It would be funny to find him in person and find that he acts like something out of the "Meet the ..." videos from TF2 of old, only x100.

The Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle game has been confirmed, and it actually looks decent...

It's practically XCOM but with Mario, so it has a chance to not be complete garbage despite being an Ubisoft game.
