How about a puzzle where you basically have to fix the future to not be apocolyptic? You start off in the bad future and there's an NPC going on about "How did this happen.."

Then you go into a pipe back to the present and eventually back into the past to fix the series of events that caused the bad future.

The good future will be a perfectly clean world with chrome and such.

Bad Future should sound dark and gritty.
Present should sound somewhat happy but with a sense of purpose.
Past I feel should be atmospheric-ish.
Good Future will probably just end up being the theme that starts up when the star is in sight, unless there's more than just a tiny bit to the GF bit.

Sorry, I actually liked the original paper mario more. Maybe it's just the graphic style, maybe it's just all the little things, but it just adds up to a better experience that TTYD does.

On-topic, I can't really decide which of the two is better, since they're both so good.

This might just be a personal issue of mine, but walljumping doesn't really work well with those panels on the walls. Will you ever remove those panels from the walls you have to walljump off of?

Why not finish the existing models? This is probably the second closest galaxy to completion (not that it's anywhere actually near completion, but it at least has models!), after Rolling Halfpipe.

Mausoleums are pretty much the same thing as catacombs, aren't they?

I kinda want to see something similar to the Boo Cloud in Super Mario World, but that'd probably not work out.

What's with all the competition over designs? Shouldn't this hack in general be collaborative?

Why can't you build on each other's ideas instead of shooting them down?

anyways, i'm thinking there should be a part outside where the platforms you're on start crumbling due to weak construction or something.

You should probably read the topic first; not to mention you should probably post that in Level Design instead.

Anyways, in the interest of not making this a useless post, it'd probably be a GREAT idea to take inspiration from Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon when it comes out.

I think it'd be neat if the galaxy started you next to the gate for a graveyard and have you find the key close by, allowing you access into the graveyard, where you proceed into the catacombs.

A Comet Medal Star Ball actually sounds kinda neat, but I don't think it should be in a bonus area. Just make it be in like the fifth starball or something.
