Hello everyone!

After working on new models for quite a while now I've finally completed the first star of Rolling Halfpipe. So without further ado lets get on with the design!

Planet 1: (as seen in the demo trailer)

Mario lands at the bottom of this planet, he then has to progress up the planet by wall jumping, he then finds a switch that opens up the cage of the silver chomp. Mario must then lure the chomp back down the planet by stepping on the disappearing platforms. Once he gets to the bottom he opens up a gap for the silver chomp to fall through, then a rules appears and brings mario to the next planet.

On the ramp section of the planet mario gets on the starball at the top and then rides the ball down the ramp unto a launcher to the next planet.

Planet 2: The Halfpipe

Overview: showing all of the planet.

Close view of the first halfpipe, mario lands at the top right of the image. He then goes down the halfpipe across the bottom. and gets launched up the side of the halfpipe. On each of the little pegs there are ?-coins some giving coins others giving starbits, and one allowing mario to procede.

Close view of the small platform and ramp: once Mario gets the correct ?-coin these platforms appear and Mario can proceed in the level.

Close view of the second halfpipe: on this halfpipe Mario must get launched up the sides and get to the other side, inside of all the dips there can be enemies that slow down Mario.

Close view of the Ramps: after the second halfpipe Mario gets to the ramps. There are two ways he can go; the easy way which is as it sounds easy and simpler to get through, but there is also the hard way which has the comet medal in it. (The hard way is to the right)

Close view of the final ramps:Mario must go down these ramps and on the final platform there is a launcher to the next planet.

Planet 3: The Loop planet

Overview of the loop planet

close view of the top section: mario lands at the top of the ramp. On either side of him chomps are riding in the grooves of ramp. He must go around the bend without getting hit by the chomps or falling off.

Close view of the chomp pit: after Mario gets off of the first ramp he finds himself in the chomp pit. Here there are many chain chomps in his way that can have Mario go off course and not hit the all important ramp at the end.

Close view of the loop: after the chomp pit Mario goes down a final ramp and then around a loop. Because the loop will be hard to work out there will be a sign near the bottom with instructions on what to do before going around the loop. After the loop Mario has a slowdown ramp and launches to the final planet.

Overview of the final planet:

Close view of the first planet: here Mario must use the drums from cloudy court to proceed upwards to the next platform. then he goes around a bend and gets launched to the target planet

This is a target planet. On the previous planet Mario gets launched onto this from the small ramp.

After the target planet Mario lands on these ramps, he must travel down them to continue.

After the second ramp Mario then goes to a third twisty ramp and then to a curved platform.

After the curved ramp Mario goes into a fall then to a ramp with a barrier at the bottom and then into the curved pipe.

After the curved pipe, Mario gets to these series of platforms, above all of these are the grey platforms that fall in Hightail Falls galaxy. after going through all of the falling platforms mario ends up at the pachinko machine.

The Pachinko Machine: in this machine Mario falls down through the pegs, in the center there is an area for Mario to go get the star, outside of the center is an area for a bonus challenge, and then outside of those are death.

The bonus Challenge: If Mario isn't so luck to complete the Pachinko Machine first go he ends up here, he then has to go on some drums, and after wards there is an area of space junk platforms similar in design to the original design.

Well thank you for taking a look at my rolling halfpipe design, leave any feedback. We still need somebody to texture it, and someone to import it. I'll be posting the model downloads soon once I clean them up.

Everything here made by cosmo.

This is amazing. Nearly Nintendo-quality.

I hope we can keep this up and get another demo release done.

I've been wanting another demo for a while, but nobody listens. :P (I'm assuming you mean a released demo and not another Exclusive demo)

Anyway, great work!
Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

0.o Demos aren't suppose to be released every month, you know :|

What is the name of the first star going to be, like "Cruising Down the Halfpipe" or something?

Nice job MrRean, but I still see models you haven't used. D:

Cosmological is still making them, as they need textures and collision. But MrRean is importing them into Whitehole and making the galaxy.

cosmo is making Coastline Cavern's other planet's right now, not this :P

I meant Cosmo made the models, but MrRean Is doing the creating of the galaxy.

Doesn't everybody know that already? I mean, MC just said that MrRean hasn't imported all of the models yet :P

I thought SSL was confused about who made the models, but I guess I was wrong. :P (as usual…)

Well, I need somebody to texture the rest of the planets. Because I can't do anything until that's done.

Well I've been having errors pop up when I import it so I can't really do so ATM

What program are you trying to texture it in?

NWPlayer123
Posted on 01-11-13 09:31 PM Link | #5295
It's not the textures. It works fine before, it's probably just cosmo's model corrupting the file. I'm gonna try something

What's the 'something' you're going to try? Be more specific :P
