I thought Red Coins weren't going to be used. I mean, Purple Coins work just fine.
Anyway, there should be some extra secrets/references for people who actually explore.

This galaxy seems quite a bit too convoluted to be stuffed into one.

First off, both Bob-omb Battlefield and pretty much any level from Sunshine, even Gelato Beach, are both sprawling and complex environments. Then you're just gonna give *one* star to each? It doesn't seem like a proper treatment to me, and even Throwback Galaxy's rendition of Whomp's Fortress didn't really capture the whole level. for instance, it didn't have the tower or all the stuff in the sky.

I'm all for remakes, but not one-star each remakes.

It's more so a matter of what concepts and such we can actually USE to make a level out of. Depending on how much, we could always make the green stars normal ones and have 2 each, but that's only if we have lots of stuff to cram in.

Okay, here's the thing...
Unless major issues come up, all galaxies are finalized
Plus, that would require taking out other galaxies

You guys have a few years to figure out, right? It seems like the people who really get stuff going are away for the time being.

I didn't say add more galaxies or replace others... maybe just reduce the scope of this one to one of the three levels chosen, instead of all three.

I'd elect the Sunshine level if this suggestion is used, because we've already have a remake of a SM64 level in the official game.

Gonna throw out another idea that will probably get shot down: what if you use small sections resembling each level from Yoshi's Island? Obviously not the entire levels, maybe it can end at the doorstep to Iggy's Castle? (That is the right koopaling, right?)

Well it's probably gonna be 2D, so IDK how well yoshi will fit into level design.
Although I would like it to be a 3D remake, it probably won't be ;-;

We should remake the early Delfino Plaza from the Super Mario Sunshine Spaceworld 2001 trailer. Everyone wants to play that level.

Here is my design for Ricco Harbor if it does not have one yet.

The Secret of the Drain

Background: unused Super Mario Sunshine background http://tcrf.net/images/b/b1/SMSearlysky.png

It appears that a Giant Goomba is storming the marketplace where Gooper Blooper used to be. The Piantas ask for your help. Yoshi's egg is in a forcefield near where you start (next to the warehouse). In order to free Yoshi, you must defeat the Giant Goomba. With Yoshi freed, you can now use the Blimp Fruit. In Ricco Tower is a 1-Up that can only be reached with a Blimp Fruit. Your objective is reach the top of the yellow cage and the Choppah blocking the yellow cage. There are many Fizzlits jumping around on the girders. Once inside the cage, you must hit the lever switch. Doing so will make your escape, a Blimp Fruit, appear in the cage you are in. A warp pipe will also appear in the drain beneath the marketplace. You can either swim to the warp pipe or use a Lead Raft.

There are Preying Mantas replacing the Bloopads/Jumping Bloopers. Cheep-Cheeps and Bloopers also appear. Various goodies appear on top buildings, the beams, the palm tree alcoves near the beams, the helipad, and obviously in Ricco Tower.

The warp pipe in the drain leads you to the Blooper Surfing Safari place. The red spikes from Flipsville appear here on the water's surface. And there are Cosmic Clones. You must collect five Silver Stars as Dash Yoshi (Dash Peppers appear throughout the obstacle course).

So, there you go. It obviously needs some work but it I may edit it later.

About cramming the missions into one star each... silver stars are the answer. At least, for something like Bob-omb battlefield. 5 silver stars in the place of 5 of the original stars, and then the final star can appear at the top of the mountain (symbolizing the boss fight). Then a 100 purple coin mission to simulate the collect 100 coins.

And for sunshine I think we should do something entirely different, I mean this is retro REMIX after all. I don't know why you chose Ricco Harbor because we can't have mario climbing on the grates that the level is based on... But we should redesign the level, make it really new.
