GIANT MUSHROOOMZ!
This is a poison swamp and mushroom level so I think we should have some cool new mushroom concepts here. Such as mushrooms that bounce you, others that burn you and others that have different effects, all being of a different color and shape. All together using mushrooms or different properties we could make for a very challenging and interesting galaxy and If possible, the night mission could include a step to the beat section with mushrooms that light up on the beat. When they turn off, they would be impossible to see. Mario would have to jump from mushroom to mushroom without falling, while being chased by cosmic clones to keep him moving. are some ideas, by cosmological and More-Cowbell respectively. Also, this galaxy was inspired by BowieZ's Humongous Fungus ____________________

Maybe the night mission starts on the ground in a foresty area, then the steptothebeat part is in the sky similar to an athletic level |

So we should kinda do a rehash of several games, we could have some platforms based on MKW, some based on NSMBW, and possibly something else. BowieZ's video of the music has a picture with Spring Mario in it. Will the Spring Mushroom appear in the galaxy? (As much as I hate it I have to admit it does fit) Imagine jumping from Mushroom to Mushroom in Rapid Succession, with each new Mushroom being jumped at being taller and that the mushrooms fall down after some time (like the platforms in Hightail Falls).

Well are you gonna actually post it? I'm curious now. Humongous Fungus Level Design
Star 2 MoreCowbell Mario finds himself landing in a dark forest at night, made up of giant mushrooms as opposed to trees. On the ground is a completely poisonous swamp, which Mario must avoid at all costs. This section focuses on making it from mushroom to mushrooms without falling in. (Underneath the mushrooms, not on top) Some stalks would be connected by sideless bridges, while others require difficult jumping skills. Pretty much, the idea is to have some way of progressing, like rolling logs in the poison, or jumping across rocks or little huts. (Reference to BowieZ’s picture) Difficulty is key, for this is the long awaited World 7! After these obstacles, Mario finds a lilypad, similar to toxic terror. While the player has the option to roam the previously unreachable areas earlier in the level, the raft’s main purpose is to take Mario to a larger mushroom, that has a little entrance inside. For a small challenge, a ring of land could surround this mushroom, so Mario must get off the raft and cross the poisonous moat to get inside. In this mushroom is a launch star, which leads to an extremely large mushroom on this same planet, comparable in size to Tall Trunk’s tree. Here, Mario must go through some difficult platforming with a catch: The Spring Mushroom! While at the constant risk of a big fall, he must jump from platform to platform, which are designed as small mushrooms and fungus connected to the trunk. In addition, there are enemies for more suffering and frustration. Once the top of this colossal mushroom is reached, a launch star takes Mario into the sky, using the well known “Grandmaster Effect.” The final section of this star is likely the most difficult. This is where our ideas come together. The music changes to the underground step-to-beat-remix, and the terror begins. The only way to proceed is by using tall mushrooms that come out of the clouds as platforms. Seems easy enough, right? … WRONG!!!!!! Each mushroom has a certain type. Some burn Mario when stepped on, while others electrocute him or simply disappear! Some are bouncy, and others have no effect. Now, to tell them apart, they all are a certain color, and have a symbol based on their danger. (Burn has a fireball, electric has a lightning bolt, disappearing has a ghost, bounce has a spring, and normal is blank) Because this is a night mission, the mushrooms are completely dark. There is no way to see them... except, when the switch sound in the beat-block song goes off, they all blink to show the color and symbol. The player must remember where all of the safe mushrooms are (bouncy/normal) to survive. In addition to these challenges, our old friends the cosmic clones are here to add to the fun! This keeps the player in motion despite the darkness. Once this section is cleared, the power star is yours! NWP suggested that star 1 should be during the day, with more of that NSMB/SMW athletic level feel in the sky (combined with an SMG style, of course!) I think this would be a great part to include the ideas we had about moving mushrooms, size-changing mushrooms, and more bouncy mushrooms |
