Shit's still going down. Nothing really new regarding prisons, strike is still more or less going.

However, the DAPL fight is going strong and escalating. Roads blockaded. Drilling waste site blockaded, halting the destruction. Equipment sabotaged and destroyed. Pipelines shut down via emergency valves in solidarity with DAPL. Protests from people who live on lands which have been seized for the DAPL.

Keep going, guys.

hello massive mess!

(well, it would have happened either way. democracy is broken, it's more than time for people to take care of things their own way)

Yes, because a president who got elected with the most votes is definitely anti-democratic...
Just deal with it, Trump won fair and square, and instead of expecting more wars, Americans can only expect more trade, even though your Western (propaganda) Media disagree.

I was referring to democracy in general, not this specific case. The base idea is to elect a president who will do what people want. In practice, the candidates are all terrible and you end up voting for the one you deem the 'least bad'. They don't listen to the people. They only benefit the capitalist system.

(also, what says the election wasn't faked? not saying it was, either, but you know)

Listening to the people sounds good on paper, but in practice, people who don't know shit about shit suggest too many dumbass ideas. This isn't a communist system, the people don't decide what they want, they decide who they want to make decisions for them.

Anyway, as the Turkish Government (On a related note, as far as I know, most Turkish people wanted both of the candidates to fucking die) would call it, this was 'A victory for democracy'.

The American people dug this hole that they're currently in, and only they can get themselves out of it. The outside world cannot help them learn how to be compassionate, or to be tolerant. Those are things that one must come to understand by themselves.

Also hah, this is pretty divine. With nationalism surging around the world, we will definitely be seeing a large-scale conflict in the next 50 years. Calling it, by 2028, there will be a clusterfuck of a conflict in Europe.

He's better than Clinton, but he is still an awful person who will probably wreck our country

Both candidates suck, but I'm glad Trump won instead of Hillary. He puts us at less risk of World War III, galvanizes progressive opposition from the start (unlikely the complacency there'd be with Hillary), and delegitimizes the corporatist Clinton wing of the Democratic Party by having defeated their standard bearer.

More global warming too.

and "more trade"... Trump has an "America first" policy, world leaders are uneasy at his inexperience.

While I don't admire the establishment and it does need shaking up, is Trump really a wise choice here? Clinton dealt a blow, but it seems to me that bigotry and racism and xenophobia is acceptable.

No one here is saying the election is rigged, but I am very dismayed at these results and I hope the Democratic Party put their act together and not be so... Ugh and choose someone so unlikeable and Wall Streety.

As I've said in the past I don't really like making political posts, however I feel that since im an american and a big political event just occured here that I should say something. Honestly I hated both candidates, a lot. Hillary was shady as all hell and cheated Bernie out of the nomination (which honestly is why she lost, but ill get to that in a minute), and Trump is an asshole who barely knows anything about polotics.

First off, a lot of people are saying that "Hillary should have won because popular vote", remember though she only won just narrowly, its not like she had a major lead in the popular vote, also most of the night Trump was winning the popular vote. Even then, say that the election was based off the popular vote, the way both Clinton and Trump sold themselves to the american people would've been toatally different. Right now its making people even more angry about the results, even though the race would have changed drastically had it been based entirely off of the popular vote from the start.

Second, The main reason Hillary lost. It is really really simple, none of the voters really wanted her, most seem to have only started supporting her once it was down to her and Trump. She was shoved down the throats of the american people but they didn't want her, they wanted Bernie Sanders. I have little doubt that a lot of the Trump votes last night came from people who originally supported Sanders but were disillusioned by the DNC deciding to rig the primaries for Clinton. I have no respect for Hillary after that, bceause I have no respect for people who undermine democracy.

Third, Trump isnt a good candidate either. Trump has made awful comments about people. I don't think he is as bad as the media hyped him up to be, he has some good ideas when it comes to economics and such, but that doesn't mean he is a perfect little angel not even close. He made sexist comments, made fun of a disabled reporter, and has made racist comments. I don't have much respect for Trump because of a lot of the comments he has made during the election.

Lastly, I think that regardless of who won there would be a lot of healing that needed to be done. The american people have been heavily split, almost right down the middle and there is already violence breaking out in some places due to the result. Is it angry Clinton voters? Is it a bunch of racist Trump voters? It doesn't matter who it is, it needs to stop. So what to do then, start a revolution? Rise up and fight the government because we dont like the choice of president and 'muh capitalism'? No, thats ridiculous and will only further divide america. What we need to do now as a nation is try to heal the ideological wounds left by both sides during this election and look towards what we are going to do next now that Trump has won. Thats about all I have to say.

Sorry for the long post, but this is a pretty tough topic to talk about.

The anticapitalist struggles are more legit than you seem to think.

If you want things like global warming to end, it's the only way. Staying within the current system will allow them to continue.

I don't share your veiw that capitalism is the root of all evil, but that doesn't mean I think its perfect. Regardless, I don't think a violent revolution is going to stop capitalism or solve any of socialisms problems either. I think a reform in America's economey (and the economies of other nations) is going to be what eventually helps corral the rampant capitalism that plagues America right now.

Good. I stayed up all night experiencing fears probably similar to the working blue collar middle class (core trump demographic) have been experiencing though I fear for them and other minorities very much now.

More global warming too.

This was going to be true with both Hillary and Trump, unfortunately.

and "more trade"... Trump has an "America first" policy, world leaders are uneasy at his inexperience.

Our idea of globalism involves corporate-empowering trade agreements, regime change wars, and supporting terrorists and human rights violators. Isolationism is a better route by comparison.

Since the election was stolen from Bernie, we were always going to be left with a choice between neoconservative corporatism and populist bigotry. Neither can be considered a good choice, but Trump is better for a couple reasons:

* Some of his substantial policies simply are better. Anti-TPP, non-interventionism, and political ethics reform are actually all progressive ideas too.

* He's the only viable option to challenge the establishment. In fact, electing him knocks down both party establishments at once: the Democrats because they saw what happens when they abandon their base, and the Republicans because they have to deal with a populist revolt.

* Right-wing populism is a symptom of the neoliberal policies pursued by people like Hillary Clinton. Rather than trying to suppress the symptom, which will likely come back much stronger at a later point, focus on killing the disease.

On another note, it actually is possible that the election was rigged for Trump. Election integrity researchers are currently reviewing some potential evidence for that. I honestly didn't expect that to be the case at all - in fact, I predicted fraud favoring Hillary - but the evidence might take us there.

The only thing I like about Trump is his abortion policy. Like the fetus is a growing human being and plus it's kinda your fault. If you don't want it or you can't take care of the baby then put it up for adoption you don't have to kill the baby.

It's not alive. It can't think. It won't know that it died in the first place. It should not be the government's choice whether you have a child or not.
