I was playing around in Tiny Huge Island (tiny) and died. Right when I re-entered the level, some random floating black ball appeared and hit me! Any other victims? Or will I die alone? |

Hmm, what is this thread about? Is it some project of yours, or a glitch that happened to you ingame? |

I'm pretty sure it's a glitch. I let my (inexperienced) friend play Tiny-Huge Island and went elsewhere. Strangely, I returned to see him get hurt by that steel ball, so I asked him "What was that" and he said "Dunno, some other player must be hacking." (Lol @ him thinking he was online) |

Record it using fraps freeware edition and let us see it first hand. Maybe it will explain to us what is going on. :\ |

I may have difficulties replicating it, and all I have is Hypercam 2. I'll try, though. Expect the video to be up tomorrow. |

Okay then. I'm hoping you can replicate it, because I don't quite get how that may be happening... Also, moving this thread to the (freshly created) Gaming forum. |

HAHAHA! well, I'm surprised you have not figured this out yet.... :| Do not attack mother natures insects ever. especially when they are butterfly's that wouldn't harm a baby ant. If you remember in the original N64 SM64, if you ran around where patoie use to be and start running and kicking around the butterfly's, they will randomly go off on you just like a walking bombomb would do. As soon as I get my nintendo ds and rebuild it from scratch and a decent flash cart, I'll give this new ds title a play around and then your beta's to see what happens. |

Thank you for answering. Now that I think about it, it only happens to me around butterflies. Also, another thing I've observed: One of them turns into a steel ball and either explodes quickly or follows you, another turns into a steel ball and follows you then explodes, and the last one turns into a 1UP. If I walk in a certain direction when the homing one is following me, it goes into orbit (haha, inertia is awesome) but eventually grows larger and explodes. Also, what do you mean "new DS title" and "my betas?" I'm guessing the former is SM64DS and my betas are SM64DS:tSotS (which will probably be far later into development about a week or so after SM64DS editor v1.1 comes out [since levels will be importable then])? Off-topic: I think I found a way to model hack objects in SM64DS. When V1.1 of the editor comes out, back up the original level model (.BMD) and collision (.KCL if I remember correctly) and import, say, a Hammer Bro. (appearing in SM64DS:tSotS if I can make them work, give them sound, etc) model into the level. Then, export the level's new model as HammerBro.BMD and replace an enemy with Hammer Bro. Then, re-insert the .BMD and .KCL of the original level and place that enemy (make sure bank settings allow that enemy). I think it could work because enemies have .BMDs and, also, somebody made Kirby playable in SM64 with Toad's Tool and OBJ importer if I remember correctly. (To make the Hammer Bro. work, though, we'd have to make it have animations and such, too) |
