you will have to add a secret level to replace the star in the white door, though (just a suggestion).

That sounds like a good idea, like CyberTanuki said though, I would need Fiachra's help.

A level based on Waluigi Pinball would be neat! The rolling boulders could work well as a pinball obstacle.

Yeah, it could also work very well as the level where you unlock Waluigi, I can imagine it having some kind of Pirannha Plant boss that shoots pinballs out of its mouth too (the level would definitely be a lot easier to make without the boss I just came up with though, lol.)

I fixed it.

have you considered reading the coversation that is going on above your post?

He was probably talking about the patch's link, the prepatched rom's link had been removed awhile ago since it wasn't allowed on here, but the link to the patch (which is allowed on here) got removed from Mediafire. I just fixed it though.

Looks cool... Too bad I cannot find the proper ROM version :P

Thanks. Also, the rom is "Super Mario 64 DS (EU)(M5)". My zip folder for the patch contains all the stuff you need to patch that rom once you get it.

When do you think you'll put in the MKWii model of Waluigi into SM64DS?

That would look interesting, but I don't think I'll import that model into SM64DS since this one took a long time to make and is already fully proportional, lol.

.... I could deign the level (not the boss XD) just pm me and we can talk

Really? That'd be great! Only if you really wanna do it though, I know getting levels in this games takes a lot of work, lol.

don't worry I love this stuff and I was thinking of something better than that we take Mario's level (for now since you replaced him) and change it into the waluigi pinball level!
EDIT: I gave waluigi's body just a little bit more detail by using your texture hack tutorial :)
EDIT 2: how I looks
but I won't show up in gameplay ;-;
EDIT 3: going beyond just the map look how happy Mario is about it

Replacing Mario's level is a great idea! You can start making the stage whenever you like since you're up to it. Also, your textures look good, and that pic of Mario, lol.

i was going yo use your waluigi head model but it froze on startup :-(

My tutorial's a little outdated now, if you have the rom of this hack you can actually just directly edit the texture's with SM64DSE, and it won't crash the game.

So I'm not sure how many people on here use the NW4C exporter plugin, but I figured since these are the 3ds hacking forums on here this would be the best place to ask. I've been trying to export this model using the NW4C export plugin for 3ds Max 2013, but everytime I click export I get this error saying "Export Error!":

I have no idea how to fix it, if anyone on here uses this plugin and knows what the problem that's causing this is, any help would be greatly appreciated.

first of all, the NW4C plugin is warez

secondly, spoilers aren't for embedding big images

I removed the spoiler. I'm just trying to follow this tutorial here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/super-mario-3d-land-model-importing.407298/ but I can't get past the exporting part because of this error. Are you not allowed to post links to warez or can you not talk about warez? Just wondering, I'm not that familiar with the rules of the 3ds forums on here.

Yeah, it probably would be a lot easier to fix if the error message said what was actually wrong, lol. Also, I changed the tag to [imgs] now.

Hi, thanks for your feedback on my mod, I'm glad you like it! I haven't been able to figure out how to replace Mario's head sprites unfortunately, which is why I haven't replaced them so far. If someone knows how to replace them, perhaps they could help me replace them. However, I was able to replace my Waluigi painting texture with yours. Here is the patch for it (it's for the (EU)(M5) rom): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B43Ma_T4utXrc0kySE9kbEV1VGc/view?usp=sharing

You're welcome! And, cool, I've tried messing around with the minimap icons before to try and replace Mario's head sprite, although I was never able to figure out how to correctly get it replace with the tiles and palette and everything. If you find anything out perhaps we could finally exchange Mario's sprites for Waluigi's. Also, maybe an easy way to contact me would be via email, mine is awesomemarrs@gmail.com.

Hmm yeah, I'm not really an expert on all of those things such as the minimaps and I do think the sprite replacing is still a bit complicated even when I look at the tutorial. Perhaps I would be able to figure it out, but it just takes a lot of work if you know what I mean. However, what I do know how to do is replace the character's face from the star/level select screen, since I've done it before. The image dimensions I believe are 128x128.

Amazing. This is how SM64DS was intended to be played.

Thanks! :D

Cool! So you figured out how to replace the character select screen? That Waluigi pic definitely looks better than the old one I used.

Hey I was wondering if you can please help me replace wario with the same mario. Any time I do that it crashes.

I've actually tried replacing Wario with other character models such as Luigi's as a test before, and I think it also crashed. I'm afraid I don't know how to replace Wario without having the game crash, but if anyone does know my guess is it would be Fiachra.
