If you need that, there's something wrong with your model design. Nintendo's course models don't need any lighting, so yours shouldn't need it either.

They need lightning. Every course of them has light. I mean, thera are shadows and light effects. The problem is, we dont know how to set up the light. If we completely remove it, sometimes you dont know where a wall turns or not. Ninteno uses shadows for that... We only figured out this shit light.

It isnt only a MKDS editor. It just supports verryyyy much file formats, but most features are related to MKDS ;)

Since (like I said) the most features are related to MKDS,it still makes sense.

There are many people interested into SM64DS Hacking. But everyone has the same problem as me: Crappy collision. If the collision generator would be good, so that there aren't anymore random holes, and if you would be able to choose what terrain it is (water/sand/stone/...), I would make soo much levels. Probably a full hack.

There are some things which should also be improved, like textures. If you import them, they become darker, as they have been before. And the Level editor misses some features, like copy-pasting objects, or deleting them with the delete key.

I just tested the obj from Skelux and the kcl from blank:

The collision is PERFECT. Even if the textures sometimes make the wrong sound, it's a BIG improvement and there aren't any bugs!
I can't wait for the collision generator being in SM64DSe :)

Thanks :) But I just solved it trough recompiling :P

EDIT: So I just tried the new KCL importer and I fall trough the ground everytime I reach an edge :(

Ok it was because I didn't triangulate my model. So every hal square had no collision. It would be nice if the collision importer would work with non-triangulated levels as well, since triangulating makes double amount of faces and SM64 DS freezes if it's over 2048 faces.

Hmm... I think KCL's only work with triangles, while BMDs can have quads?
In that case we could triangulate the model to generate the KCL and leave it as-is for the BMD :P

Epic fail of me. I always do that for MKDS. Why didn't I think of it now? :nyan:

So yeah, I thought such a thread would be very useful, since the editor was brought back to life.
This thread should contain bug reports & feature suggestions.
Then, I'll just start.

Bug:
I don't know if it's only me, but when moving the camera with the right mouse button, the camera goes crazy fast and makes flips etc.
Revision: 23

Suggestion:
Making object-moving better. I mean, you should be able to click on one of the axis-arrows to move it on the selected axis.
Revision: 23

Suggestion:
It would be really nice if the dark-texture thing could be fixed. When you import your model, you always have to make them a bit brighter, so they don't look dark after importing :(
