Needs some solar flares.

You know, just to fit the name :P

how about an abandoned planet you are on, in which you travel from the frozen surface, through a cave with alternate hot-cold places, and ending up at the planet's lava core?

Na, I personally want this to have more than 1 planet and a lot more linear than other galaxy.

I actually like AwesomeAddict's idea... for one star, mind you. Why have flarefrost be linear? I normally go for linear but... we already got a linear level in SMG2. We could have a mix of linear and non-linear here. You start out on the frozen outside of the planet, and then you slide down to the center, in which you find that the inside of the planet is molten! It could be really neat!

Btw I still want to use that skating slide around the volcano planet here, where you get to go in the volcano
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ka4u7s06tdqx4mc/Flarefrost%20Design%201%20003.jpg

That's old, and you can ignore the inside of the volcano design
Also, it would be cool to have those lava drops from SB falling on the ice

Non Linear Fire AND Ice? Love it! Genius!

EDIT: I like that design. But this galaxy needs to be in W5 :/

It doesn't NEED to be anything >_<

I'm thinking about the slide being star 2...?

This is a VERY old level design I created for SMG3 cuz I was bored. (NOTE: It says 3 stars. I am just posting this to show some alternative ideas, this is NOT intended for the full level design.)

Ignore the Grapple Mushroom and the Boss talk - because it isn't happening.

Lavice Galaxy (fire and ice themed galaxy - sort of a beefed up version of freezeflame and shiverburn) This galaxy is basically 1 HUGE planet with several small planets. in the middle. The whole planet is shaped like a doughnut. One third is all ice, the other is all lava, and the other is a mix of both. Each mission will be covering a third of the ring. There is a slide in the middle of the huge planet. This is used in the third mission. Also, a boss battle planet is in the middle of the donut, with 2 mini boss battle planets next to it.
1 - Lavice's Icy cave - This mission takes place on the ice third of the donut. First you enter an ice cave with NO enemies. Instead, many crystals are in it. some have pull star chips - find them all and you can cross an abyss. You are now across the abyss in the cave. Here, you need to jump across icy platforms with icicles falling to hurt you. This requires ice skating at one point to dodge the icicles. At the end of this part, A pull star challenge to the top of the planet is on. Here, icicles fall at you while using pull stars. At the top, you can see the whole planet - but you can't access the lava parts yet. Instead, you need to go down the icy slope. This is like a slide, but with few boundaries. Snowballs will roll at you so you need to avoid them. Eventually chain chomps come, so you need to dodge them. At the end of the slope just above the enterence to the cave, is the launch star that will take you to Baron Burr. Boss: Baron Burr - fought the same way as in SMG1, but with a different areana (this fight takes place in one of the smaller boss planets
2 - Escaping the Erupting Volcano - This mission takes place on the all-lava part. You start in a lava cave, with rocks rotating through the lava. You will eventually reach the volcano part. Here, meteors rise from the lava and shoot up, erupting. Here, you need to use the grapple mushroom to attach yourself to a meteor to escape. You can control the meteor, but lava is constantly dripping through the walls while you are trying to control the meteors. Avoid the falling lava! At the top of the volcano, take a sling star to get to the lava bed next to the volcano. Here, a simple jump-the-lava-platforms challenge exists, but rock platforms revolve around a center point, go diagonally, and more. At the end of the platform jumping, a launch star will take you to the other miniboss planet. Boss: Sir Cinder - A firey version of baron burr. He is fought the same way, except he can burn you instead of freeze you.
3 - King Cindurr's Extreme temperatures - introduces a new enemy - a cindurr - a cross between a burr and a cindurr. Its effect will burn and freeze you, so you lose 2 life. They also take 2 spins to lose their coat. The level starts out in a cave. The floor is lava, but icicles will fall to create tiny platforms to get across. Then, the floor is ice, but meteors will fall to create lava patches (sound farmilier?). At the end of the path is a larger volcano. This time, there is no grapple flower. Fire and ice dominate this area, so the music is temporaroley a mix of both songs. to escape the volcano, you need to climb up platforms. Ice will cover the inner circumfrence of the top part of the volcano. These ice platforms that cover the inner circumfrence will revolve around the I.C. and you have to wall jump just right so you don't touch the lava. At the top, a sling star takes you to a section where you can choose between fire or ice mario. Fire mario will allow you to melt ice blocks near a path, but there is so much lava, it gets hard to not get burned. If you choose ice mario, you can swim under the lava (a wall prevents you from skating the lava). Under the lava has no lava harm risk (as long as you keep ice flower), however, obsticles are under the lava, so be careful. This part is modeled after the first part in sand spiral galaxy. After this, a launch star will take you to the slide. The music will be a remix of the slide theme from SMG2 to suit fire and ice. The first part of the slide will be ice - but meteors and mini - suns will fall and be obsticles. Also, A rock could fall and create a hole instead of a lava obstruction. The second part is all lava - but icicles will fall to create ice platforms for you to slide on. jumping will be used a lot here. The 3rd section has both lava parts and ice parts, but more holes form. Also, skinny sections form, making it hard to travel through. At the end of the slide, a launch star will take you to the small planet with the star.

I think we can do something more creative, TBH.

Hmm, I think there was a idea for a mini solar system or something...
That would be an interesting option for a nonlinear fire/ice level, with some fire planets close to the sun (but with icy regions on the side facing away from the sun), and vice versa.

That was actually one of my ideas for the old scrapped 'Trial World', with the hottest galaxies being near the center (Fiery Flare) and the coldest ones farther away (Freezefrost)

Since we're using that idea for Still Life (Except modified a little), I don't think we should use the same idea here.

Hmm,i think these may help:
Freezeflame Galaxy(or whatever)
oh, and let's not forget Shiverburn:

At about an ice cave filled with lava? It will have two connected paths so that it is mostly non-linear.

Dear god... THIS. IS. GENIUS.
:P

Anyway... I want to include that volcano planet with that skating slide thing I came up with in the design for this

Skating down a slide? GENIUS!
you know what else is genius?
ADDING IN GRAVITY SO YOU GO UPSIDE DOWN WHILE SKATING! :D
.....I'm entirely serious.

NWP I believe we discussed the idea of skating upside down before the move. Also, it's not necessarily a slide. I just call it that because it will have a downward incline.

Assuming you aren't being sarcastic....

I'm not. And also, I don't exactly remember that part from the move since I was too busy with everything else :P
But anyways that volcano part, have you decided whether the player should go inside and explore it or what?

Yes, the skating slide leads into the base of the volcano, and (if possible) the lava begins to rise up.

Aren't we having a volcano in AquaFlame? But that idea is good, and should be either used here or AquaFlame.
