What if star 2 was like, a night time theme with bright lights. The Las Vegas of SMG! I don't think smg has ever done that

We might be using metal flowers so we should use metal flowers as platforms and scenery. For platform use, they would work similar to giant tall mushrooms. For scenery use, they would be on the ground and anywhere else you might find flowers. There could also be a huge metal flower that you have to scale to the top of to use a Launch Star or collect a Power Star.

I'm really set on a bright, happy nature theme that of course is fake. Inflatable bushes, metal (but colored green) trees, etc. It should be a huge attempt to recreate nature

That's exactly what this galaxy is about, silly. I really like the inflatable bushes idea though :)

Inflatable bushes would make good trampolines.

i think a bit of inspiration can be taken from the future levels of sonic cd.

the good future levels are an example of nature and technology working together in harmony; the bad future levels are an example of technology mechanizing everything and nature being almost non-existant.

I'm pretty much getting my inspiration from thneedville

I think it fits the concept perfectly

I agree with MC.

If we retexture a spiky yellow Sentry Beam as a thorn bush, that would be both sweet and hilarious. Also, this could be the place to have Mandibugs retextured as creep robots.

Meh, I think that they could be better used elsewhere.

The second star should have metal trees with unhappy faces and wilted metal flowers. All of the metal plants should look dreary.

No... no it shouldn't

And I'm against this whole metal thing. I prefer the fake nature theme here. I mean, some metal isn't bad, but plastic should be used here too

Unhappy faces on trees? err...No.

OK, yeah no to that. Plastic trees and plastic grass we should use. I would say to create a planet that is similar to portions of the early Yoshi Star/Tall Trunk mission 1 from the E3 2009 trailer. It had trees and realistically detailed grass.

I think that planet would fit better in Size Switchip HRE.
But anyways, like Glem said a long time ago, don't go overboard with the artificial life. Its supposed to add to the craziness, not change the art style.

OK, now I see what you mean. In the first mission, there could be a blue water spout with a rectangular opening, nozzle, and shape (like some air conditioner hook-shaped vents on top of building). There could also be multi-colored metal "rocks". If possible, Mario should be able to kick them around. Maybe that could be the objective of a section.

That would require animations if I'm correct, but I like the general idea of metal rocks. What types of enemies should appear in this galaxy? My first thought were the mechanical blargs from toy time

[They are Mecha-Koopas, not Mecha-Blargs. :P] Yes, Mecha-Koopas would work here. The background could have a huge lightbulb instead of a nearby star (sun) and the clouds look like shiny nylon.

The second is supposed to be gloomy, so grey nylon clouds and rain machines in the background could work

Tbh I hate the idea of a gloomy second star

I like the idea, I always imagined this galaxy as rather dark and dreary (for a Mario game at least.)

See, I have the opposite feeling. I feel like it's a mix between the beautiful nature galaxies and the bouncy little mechanical ones

Okay, so the the tractor wants to be a tree aardvark. That makes perfect sense

I think I should scrap that idea. I realized it is too illogical. Someone still needs to think up of an idea that does not go overboard with metal plants.

Edit: In Sky Station's first star, there is a cylindrical planet that has grass and moving stone carts. Imagine a planet similar in the grass, gravity, and black hole aspects. Cranes, like those in Ricco Harbor, are moving grass cobered dirt pieces.

Basically, I see this galaxy as a combination of Good Egg, Sky Station, Battlerock, Buoy Base (the non-water parts), and Dreadnought.
