It's probably because Mario's hardcoded as an object and it doesn't look for a BTK animation to run. Go look through MarioAnime.arc to see what all you can do.

Alright, so I should put the BTK in MarioAnime.arc, not Mario.arc . I'll try that.

What in P.O.T (ProductMapObjDataTable) support animations? Is it RailMoveObj?

BCK and BTP animations are not supported by any kind of ProductMapObjDataTable class. BTK animations...I know that RailMoveObj does, though I would think that there would be others. Planets added via PlanetMapDataTable support BTK animations.

Okay thanks!

Exactly how is it working when I add new stars? Do I just have to fix the scenario and the text? Do I have to place a new Power Star too? I need help!

In the map, just open it up in Anarchy.

I mean the objects is in /ObjectData and placed in ___GalaxyMap/jmp/Placement/Layer/ObjInfo. But the areas is in /??? and placed in ___GalaxyMap/jmp/Placement/Layer/AreaObjInfo. (I dunno about the gravity). So in which folder are the areas and the gravity in?

Why are you trying to add in new files? Just open up the map in anarchy, the first dropdown is placement and the second dropdown is AreaObjInfo for areas and gravity is the second one up from the bottom in that list, IDR the name.

I want to know where the files are, I don't want to know how to add them, because I already know how to do that. I want to know where else they can be than ObjectData, because they seem to not be there. So where are the files for the areas and gravity? LayoutData? I want to look in them.

If you follow my instructions you'd find out. They're objects, there is no model and no "files" to look at. It's all in the map, it's hardcoded.

Oh okay.

I have two other questions:
-How does switches with red buttons work?
-How do I add a new NPC to NPCList? It is just files with names of the NPCs with another word after and the files are tables that just contains the filename of the things that the NPC can hold. So how does it working?

NPCData has something todo with obj_args I think, as it defines the items Toads and Bees have. PenguinRacerLeaderItem is unused.

There is no way to make new NPCs without making new code for it.
For switches, look at the objectDB, IIRC it's documented there.

No it's not.

Every single ground-pound switch uses SW_A, iirc.

Why is the Blue Star Chip Controller in LayoutData?

NWPlayer123
Posted on 10-29-14 04:22 PM Link | #50415
Because it is?
Blue Star Chips were never fully removed, they somewhat work (though IIRC they don't appear in a level ???). I could probably fix it with an ASM patch.

I mean wouldn't it be in ObjectData? LayoutData should have image-related things. Not advanced object controllers like that.

The BlueChipController is in LayoutData, because the Archive contains the star chip counter displayed on top of the screen.

NWP, if you want to get them working in SMG2 you would also have to fix BlueChips.
