It's alright to make one thing complex, this could be the only time there would be a huge backstory like this. Don't start fights please. The story is not required for you to know, you have the option not to talk to the yoshi or say no to his history lesson.

Exactly, Bowser wasn't responsible for the state the galaxy is in. I was also thinking once you beat this mission for the first time, you bring a Yoshi Egg, and a Yoshi NPC on the Starship!

Alright, we could scrap the Star Spirits. I'll edit my post. I was also thinking you learn how to use spinies in the first mission of Comet Chasm, and having the Big Purple Latiku guy as boss. You fight him on a mud/tar pit with bones you can jump on to help you hit him or something.

Remember that this is a galaxy where a comet once crashed and left a big hole, that's what the level should center around. I'm imagining something similar to Yoshi Star, with a big main planet with some bones and tar, although this level will be much more of a reddish rock area (not too much brown) like a prehistoric level. The music should reflect this.

Exactly, that's why I wanted a dead dry feel of music remixed in that yoshi theme.

I agree. This music fits really well on how I imagine this galaxy to look like. I vote this should be official.

Since Yoshi is gonna be in this galaxy, I was thinking the design should basically be a harder version of Fearsome Fleet on lava.

Hmm, well the level doesn't have to use Yoshi most of the time, but since hes got a double date with Mario and Bowser Jr and Red Megahammer, he should be in included without the boss at least a little.

TBH, I think we should not use blaz's piece for EOTU, and use MG3's piece for it.

SSL, stop. Glem3 has a heart, and would give MG3 another chance. MG3's piece is outstanding, and sounds different and unexpected for a Mario game. Which is very original. It would give the player goosebumps while playing this level.

TBH, I disagree with Polari's idea of no powerups. In the original game there were 3 powerups in the final Bowser galaxy: Yoshi, Drill, and Cloud. Since we are using Yoshi in Final Frontier, he shouldn't be in this galaxy. And, we should give other powerups the spotlight besides Cloud (obviously, its WAY TO overused in the original game.) and Drill. I was think to use Rock to blast through breakable objects and to get away quickly by something being destroyed near you. Also, we can use Shells. They could help solve tiny puzzles or to use in an underwater section. (In MK7, there was an underwater section, which means we can now combine lava and water since it has been done in a Mario game.)
One more thing, we should create Astral Stronghold, Edge of the Universe, and Super Mario Galaxy last. Since, in most opinions, they are meant to be the main galaxies of the game.

Yeah Glem3, you know when you beat a level, NPCs come on the Starship? Your idea would make sense cuz they would get off and help Mario.

I had an idea on Proboards to use both Gobbleguts, and you use a mirror gimmick of some sort to attack them. Although, this seems like something really hard to do and might be impossible.

Yes we should totally do that. And I was thinking because NWP's pic gave me an idea of this galaxy was supposed to be messed up in the future, I immediately thought of the Lanayru Desert from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It was so clever how in the past, technology was more advanced than in the future. We should use a gimmick similar to the Timeshift Stones as well.

Yeah, we can just use Fiery Gobblegut alone with some new mirror gimmick to spice up the battle. And the normal Gobblegut could go in a normal galaxy in one of the previous worlds as a normal boss. (Normal 3x):P

Yeah, TBH, I actually did this before. On my Red Megahammer video, I only used the first beta version to be shown to the public. The version after it and the final version are both Unlisted videos. Yeah Polari, you showed everyone the final version >_<

Actually his design is complete, I think. Check this out: Well this is my idea: First, we use everything in SSL's idea(and add some Bee Mushrooms in there). Which is right here: http://supermariogalaxy2-5.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=concepts&action=display&thread=1134
So after SSL's idea of going through the towers, you fight the boss. The boss is: Boomsday Machine! (because, well its like a tower.)
You will use Bee Mario instead of Cloud Mario to proceed to the top. I decided to also add Bullet Bills and resting points(area/areas where the Boomsday Machine can't touch you because remember, it's World 3, not 5). And I added the Bullet Bills because they can spice things up! (They can make it harder for you, or easier if you lead them on Bowser Jr's cockpit cage. [I haven't tested that yet, because this needs to be approved first.]).

Alright, I came up with the name for this galaxy, so I should should get some part on this. In my original design, I had a huge planet that is all dirty and dark with bones layin' around. And in the middle of the planet, is Dry Bone castle. In Dry Bone castle, there are a lot of Dry Bone troops guarding the place. Along with Boos and Bomboos as well. You would solve some puzzles, then reach the boss. The boss was supposed to be a Huge Dry Bones, similar to the Dry Bones boss in Mario Party DS - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=przLButz-ck . (This was obviously all based on BowieZ's theme.)
But, he also has normal dry bones troops surrounding him. I was thinking to throw Boo Mushroom in there as well.
