Oh, okay.
What about the background battle?

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train.

Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys.

Aww, there isn't even a proper graveyard. ;_;
Can't Planet 3 be that connected bridges puzzle graveyards thingy idea?

You mean the stopping? Or both?
Actually, is editing existing paths easily possible? Or not?

Well, Bouldergeist's arena itself will be a graveyard, but if you want I can make another planet :P

Also, what happens when a Bomb Boo colides with a normal boo?

Well, it would be nice to have a proper graveyard puzzle, you know. Like that idea, with the bridge connected flat graveyard planets, with the key puzzle. Hmm, I wonder if a key being collected can trigger a Giant Boo chase...

This is the only design thread...?

Anyway, Polari, how is the signpost going to trigger the Boo? Maybe just when Mario steps forward, but with the signpost having a ring of coins around it. And could you elaborate on the "walkway" part? Like Haunty Halls?

Maybe the third planet should be a bunch of largish, flattish graveyard planets instead, connected with bridges, and with blue fire, torches, lots of gravestones (which some Boos rise from), an area of lots of Swoopers, etc. Plus any traps. Mario has to find a key, then reach the Launch Star/pipe. It would be best to rig the bridge network so that Mario has to travel through most/all the graveyards.

Bouldergeist. :3

Well, mainly just unnerving enemy attacks and avoiding Boos, and exploring the graveyards for the key.

It was a convenient way of putting the peaceful water and the electric/water themes together. The contrast is a plus.

Just don't let the dirt theme be neglected.
So, maybe Mario has to find a drill spot to enter the underground mine, and a large 2D section with drilling down into a 2D mine with lots of crystal and metal and Diggas. Ideally, there should be quite a lot of sections, with sideways motion done by metal bouncing with the drill. And with a key spawning from a Digga and the pipe opening in another.

So will it be a whole star (star 2?), or just a section?
Can't think of many mountain or snow based obstacles for a long slide...
Then again, if Star 1 was going up the mountain, maybe, if Star 2 is the slide, Star 2 can be short segments of slide seperated by platforming: going back down.

We decided that rock wasn't going to be in this galaxy a long time ago. It gets introduced in W3 anyway :P

I meant that there should be a mine, with crystals, boulders and some chunks of metal. Otherwise, there needs to be a gravity theme as well, because, seriously, drilling is mostly one-way. Except for the bouncing. Pretty much, the dirt theme by itself is kinda lacking.
Like, a huge rectangular planet, with the top fenced off (where Mario lands). Then he has to avoid Diggas and those digging moles from Battle Belt, getting the Spin Drill, then digging down to emerge in a small square cavern with many crystals and metal machines. Mario has to then find the right digging spot, with all others just bouncing him around, then back up.
Then a few more much shorter maze like drilling spaces (just high enough to jump in), with a couple digging moles and 3 spots to drill each. One gets the player forward, while the others are the wrong ones, and Mario eventually gets to a dead end, with a pipe taking him back to where he guessed wrong. Best to have three layers total, but with a signboard giving him a tip at the beginning, and the right ones having a difference (like, with more Diggas near it?)
Then...Mario either pops out the other end, then explores the long flat side of the planet . Or he emerges in a gigantic cavern...ran out of ideas here.

Machines...Inside water...Shooting fire?

I always imagined it as a giant water sphere planet with several volcanoes in it.

Nintendo logic! XD This entire galaxy is built on Nintendo Logic. :P

Well, that would kinda restrict the number of options...a lava sphere embedded in a water sphere would be cool.

Wut.
Space camera? o.0
Satellite- a space probe. Or anything that orbits anything.

Haunted? There needs to be a peaceful water theme here (the only one, I think). The other lake...well...Boos and electricity...hmm...

I know gravity can be pointed in the 4 directions, but can it actually be messed with so that there's half gravity or doublly strong gravity or something like that? Probably impossible though. Just wanted to ask.
Anyway, there should probably be a central ball of....uhh...some purply stuff...retextured dark matter to look darker, if possible?
So yeah, maybe there should be tubes running from an assortment of various unstable planets, in which most of the weird gravity platforming takes place, because otherwise it's hard to make "outdoor" gravity puzzles.

Really? :o
Then the main planet could have double gravity (or more...jumping restricted) and the other planets could have less. If that's possible.
That would also be very useful in other places...
(ninja'd...drat.)

I have no idea how that was a world map. Really confusing, why were so many paths disconnected? Surely there shouldn't be 5 warp pipes.

Anyway, as world map editing is relatively simple, there's no need to endlessly discuss whether something should be moved. The first one was good. I'm sure nobody will disagree with the first one after the tweaks mentioned on the first page...?

I was imagining something like The Void in Super Paper Mario.

For the pic, I meant a simple representation of what it would look like on the galaxy map, not a picture of the emblem.

You know, seeing people judging world map designs for a long while, and not finalizing anything... I know it shouldn't be rushed, but this whole world map discussion seems to be getting vague.
Note: maybe there should be a general world map thread. I keep getting confused when somebody says that it's already being used in another world map.
So far:
World 1- 2 designs (zm123bro's and mine)
World 2- SSL's amazing pyramid map
World 3- pieordie1's design (link is down), SSL's design
World 5- pieordie1's design -done on tablet...
World 6- none -ideas -spiral -Bowser shape
World 7- none -
Right?

Since the HUB is the Mega-Starshroom, we can assume that the Toad Brigade have gotten a lot of new members, or there are now other junior Toad organizations.

Well, back when Glem3 was creating the Mega-Starshroom, I had this idea-

The Toad Brigade has grown to a huge size. they have hundreds of Starshrooms at their dispossal now, and different Starshroom models too

What do you think?

Well, then Polari's one should be official...?
Otherwise there really isn't much sense in 8 Toads operating a huge Starshroom and at least fifty smaller ones.

Maybe there could be something like a minigame.
Can those bouncy drums move? If so, there could be a "minigame" with a moving drum, with a few coins along its path.
