Hello, i'm new and as my username would imply, i'm a Nintendo Fan. Today on another site where I was moderator, someone registered and said that they came from this site, so I decided to take a look. Hacking SM64DS ans Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 sounds interesting, so I may start a project or something.
Anyway, this place seems nice, so hopefully I can come here every once in a while. ____________________ A nobody. |

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong section(I really can't see it being elsewhere.) Anyway...
As the topic title would imply, you can play Mario Party 3 for the Nintendo 64 online. How? I'll explain: 1. You need a emulator with Netplay(aka Kaillera) support. Most emulators like Project64k do not agree when playing any Mario Party online. But, I found one. It's called Mupen64++ Beta 0.1.3.12 , and is actually really good in emulating Goldeneye 007 online. It also is good at Mario Party, apparently. Download: http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?69792-Mupen64-Beta-0.1.3.12 2. Get the ROM. You should know about this stuff if you've ever hacked SM64DS or Galaxy. You're on your own for that. 3. Ok, I have the files, now what? Open Mupen, and go to to "Options" and then "Settings." Go to the Directories tab and select the folder where the Mario Party 3 rom is. It should appear in the emulator if you did it correctly. Then, go to "Options" again and then "Controller config" and from there, set your controls. Then, go to "Utilities" and then "Kaillera client." A small window will open. On the top, chance your username and your quit message(Message that appears when you quit) To whatever you want. On the other side, change your connection to Excellent. LAN is for local areas, and it really doesn't work well. Then, find a server. 4. How do I find a server? On the bottom there should be a button called "Master Servers List." Click that and a window will open and it will search for servers around the world. Find one that is near you and your friends to prevent lag and desyncs.(Lag is when the game gets slow, and Desync is when you and the other players are seeing different games. ex One could be on Bowser Land in Mario Party 2 while the other is in Rules Land or Pirate Land.) Then, Press create(If one isn't there, right click) and load Mario Party 3. Everything is straightforward from here; when all players join, press start. 5. I'm encountering some errors... "Error uncompressing save data! Desync detected!" You and your friend's save files are not the same. There are three solutions to this. 1. Delete your MP saves. Beware that anything saved in your MP data in Mupen will be gone forever. 2. Download a master save(100% everything) and replace/move it with your save files and make sure your friend does the same. 3. If you really like your save, make a copy and upload it to some site and have your friend download it. "I can't connect to a server." The server is either shut down, down for maintenance, or your connection is very low(In this case just wait a while for it to come back.). Have a backup server ready in case this happens. "How do I make my own server?" http://www.kaillera.com/faq.php#15 If the game refuses to load, restart the emulator. Anyway, me and two of my friends have been playing for a while, and we were wondering about getting a fourth player, considering the Computer isn't the best. So, does anyone here want to play with us? ____________________ A nobody. |

I really don't know how I feel about a SMG3. I thought that The original and 2 were enough, and that it didn't need a third.
As for SMS2, that's up to Nintendo, since most people liked it and others didn't. Personally I liked it, so I guess i'd prefer a SMS2 over SMG3. Also, since we have an editor for Galaxy, maybe someone can make a fan made SMG3? Just saying. And SM642. http://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_64_2 This page states that it was just a game for the failed 64DD and it was cancelled. But... http://www.mariowiki.com/Super_Mario_128 ...This page states that it turned into a game for the Gamecube called Pikmin. So if you've played Pikmin, then in a way you've played what could have been SM642. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by TheSpeedyMouse So anyway, it looks like there's going to be some sort of SMG3, whether it'll be official or fan made. With that out of the way, we can hope for a SMS2. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by natnew Not every emulator is perfect. Especially ones for systems that were made in the 2000's.(Except GBA, that is.) Anyway, sometimes the button config in games such as Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, really annoy me. Select is to open the menu, and Start is to switch the Bros. ...What. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by GrapeEscape I have the original GBA, and it is somewhat easier there, but the backlight is broken, so it's really dark. Luckily the one on my SP still works, but at a certain angle. I can play Superstar Saga on my Wii U, but it's still annoying with my Wii Remote or my VC Controller. ____________________ A nobody. |

Well, this looks good, but really it looks like a recolored Luigi, it doesn't actually look like Waluigi. Good progress though.
Edit: Also, if you can try to import the Waluigi model from Mario Party 8 and use that. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by Splitwirez I see. Oh well, this still looks cool. It would be nicer with a actual Waluigi model, though. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by Splitwirez Actually, that Luigi originated from a game called Mario Is Missing for the DOS. A Let's Player pointed it out how creepy it was and made a drawing and uploaded it, and since then it's been used quite a lot. @Hard to pronounce I just pronounce it as Mu-uigi. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by Splitwirez The game was also on NES and SNES, but it used Luigi's sprites from Super Mario World. Anyway, this hack is so absurd and well.. I really don't see why it even exists. But it's a thing now, I guess. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by jjesss064 Looking back at SMG1 and 2, they were both great games, but I really don't think a third one is necessary. I would prefer a SMS2 over a SMG3 for many reasons, one of them being that Sunshine got many mixed opinion reviews and I would like to see a sequel fix the errors that Sunshine had, like removing the Long Jump, which would be possible on the Wii U's Gamepad or a VC controller because they have enough buttons. Edit: This is off topic but why was Galaxy Hacker banned exactly? ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by Anthe I actually have that controller, but why does the wire come from the bottom, seriously.... Anyway, I got a copy of Pokemon Yellow and Super Mario bros. Deluxe. a few days ago for 15 dollars. Currently I don't have a picture of that, so I might edit my post soon. Idk. The good thing about these games is that they have working save batteries, so that's a plus. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by natnew I have used it before and it so laggy I can barely move when playing Super Mario 64 DS. I need a better PC. On topic, whenever I open up a file I made and it's password protected and I don't remember it and feel like a idiot and later I do remember and feel more like an idiot for not remembering it, especially if the password is super easy to remember and is like five characters long. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by Anthe I think Solaris is saying that is because this is a topic about things you recently picked up and you're saying that you beat all of SMB: DX which isn't related. ____________________ A nobody. |

This may seem like a very stupid question but how exactly do I load a SMG hack on my Wii/Wii U? I recently installed The Homebrew Channel and some other stuff(Emulators and the patch to go on Wiimmfi) but how? I've never really stepped into the modding/hacking world that much, so what do I exactly do? ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by Splitwirez Alright, well I guess i'll go learn XML now. If I end up forgetting/just be lazy(i'll probably forget about it) I can just play some Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii or Another Super Mario 3D using Riivolution/Emulators. ____________________ A nobody. |

Posted by StapleButter It's up to the YouTuber whether or not to make the said video able to watch on mobile devices, not Google. If a video has total shit quality on mobile, they simply disable mobile viewers. ____________________ A nobody. |
