There's no tool to edit BMG files in SMG1. You have to rely on hex-editing.

Whitehole v1.4.3 has a little tool that hashes strings. Dossun2 has that feature as well.

When nothing changes it's a problem with your syntax. Nuntius Novus doesn't inform you about problems in your file. Use msbconv instead.

The NMG board is not as active as Kuribo64, but it is growing. Since the release of Neo Mario Galaxy, a lot of people joined the board and the general interest into SMG modding has increased. Most of the time, the members of the NMG board are hanging around on the Discord server. Things are going pretty good. On Youtube, I have also received a lot of feedback and questions about SMG modding.
The amount of users on K64 is not significant to this. I doubt that the ~1400 members on this board are interested in SMG modding. On top of that, most of these members are inactive or banned. There is a small "core community" of whom not many people are interested in SMG modding either...

Additionally, the NMG board has some nice things to offer that Kuribo64 does not. Firstly, we have the Wiki, that can be edited by everybody. It can be used to document things in a nice way, so that everybody can provide and access information. Secondly, there is the object database. K64 does have an object database as well, but this one is VERY outdated and most of the information is wrong. Also, it can not be edited anymore. Also, there is a downloads page that lists the most useful and up-to-date tools for SMG modding.

Change the path ID yourself and then you're done. The path indexes, which link to the file in the map archive, are set up correctly. You are doing something wrong.

Glad that's explained. The path ID is used to assign it to objects. It's like the unique l_id for objects. The index is used to assign it to a file. If the path index is 4, it loads the content from CommonPathPointInfo.4.

On our old German board we had four formats only. This is simple and easy to follow. Having too many different colors and formats is pointless in my opinion.

Ever since I began working on Neo Mario Galaxy I was wondering what there is to the leftovers of the GoldenTurtle object from Super Mario Galaxy 1. You may not know what I'm talking about, but it's actually the golden shell required to open the golden treasure chest in Bigmouth Galaxy. Anyway, I have found out that all the functions and its virtual table are still in the game. The only thing that was removed is the creation method for the actual object. It wasn't difficult to recreate it, but the results are very impressive:

Yeah, I was able to fix the crash by allocating more space for the object. I didn't notice that shells require more space than in SMG1 (0xF0 > 0xE4).
