Javascript in general is a pretty bad language nowadays because of the bloat and dependancy rampancey that has come about recently. It honestly frightens me that some devs are legitimatley considering using electron to make webapps as desktop apps, because thats what the desktop needs, more slow and bloated ui kits and requirement heavy scripting languages.

IDK Yami, a lot of kiddos I know often move onto using c++ after using something like python or c# for a while. Sometimes its slower and sometimes its faster, some times it never happens at all. However it seems to be fairly common afaict, which is a good thing imo since I don't want javascript desktop apps with crap like electron.

C# on linux is ok for smaller things like commandline programs and such, but anything more complex doesnt work that greeat because of monos limitations. For cross platform development your best bet is almost always c++ with qt (because gtk2 is getting a bit outdated, dont know much about gtk3 tbh). A lot of the people switching from python and such to c++ often tell me its for better control over how things work and not needing to be tied to the python interpreter (or windows/mono in the case of C#).

Just nuke n' paved my archbox a while back because the first install got fucked by bloat and I didn't feel like going to find all of it and remove it with pacman (just orphaned packages and such).

Currently using cinnamon with a dark numix theme and the numix cicle (probably menda cirlce soon) icon theme and my term is urxvt. On that note, I really like your xfce setup koopakingdom, xfce is lightweight and really well made imo and id use it if I didnt like cinnamon just a bit more :P

I've been using a razr blackwidow ultimate on linux with little to no issues for the past year or so, the open source drivers for it work really well. Even without official drivers I'd reccomend a black window ultimate since the it's is just a really nice and formidable keyboard.

Though honestly I wouldn't put razr on the same level as apple in terms of paying for the brand over paying for a device. While they do cost a tad bit more than some other mechanical keyboards, which will be expensive in general regardless of what you get, they do feel and work fairly well as well as not really damaging easily (I have a slightly broken keyboard rack on my desk that falls off from time to time and my keyboard is still in good shape). Contrast this to apple where you get keyboards, mouses, phones, you name it, that are pretty fragile and frail. Overall, while razr's keyboards cost a bit more, I think its worth it seeing as they are pretty good quality.

Correction, Linux takes more effort than Windows.

It requires at least some base knowledge, even Ubuntu and Mint because of stuff like ppas and dependency bullshit with some packages you may want. If you are willing to take the time to learn how to properly use Linux, you'll have a smoother running and easier to use system than if you were to use Windows, if you don't then it is really just a waste of your time. All of this coming from a guy who uses arch as his daily driver, so its not like I have anything against Linux.

Do not get 64GB or 32GB of ram. For the love of god do NOT do that, the most you will need for modern computers is 8gb-16gb even then anything over 10 or 11 is really a stretch. Its not the CPU that needs to be compatible with your ram, its that your motherboard needs to support that amount of ram you put in it. This shouldn't be a problem for most motherboards you would get off of newegg or wherever.

In terms of OS, all the thing you listed in an earlier post can be done on linux (playing minecraft, streaming, dolphin and SMG2 modding). Other than that a fairly recent gfx card, I would suggest something like a gtx750-gtx1050, but since this is a budget build type deal Id aim towards the low to mid end of that spectrum. The i5 is a breddy good, so that seems solid.

Another suggestion, if you are far enough away from your router to need a wifi usb, er, thing, get a powerline adapter since they are fairly cheap and offer a solution to long range wired connections.

Razer isn't actually as much of a rip off as you let on Ricbent, if at all. If you were to get the model I have, the black widow ultimate 2016, on newegg it would run you about $53. Mechanical keyboards tend to range in price from $50-$140 (though sometimes are on sale for around $30). $53 is pretty cheap for a mechanical keyboard. In terms of switches though, razer's green and orange switches have been reported to be basically copies of cherry's blue and brown switches (some say because they didn't want to work with cherry, which makes sense) that aren't really any better or worse than the originals. Its true that they were aggresivley marketed, though they dont seem to be the cause of higher prices in some of razer's newer products.

With the posts that i've seen you write tmat mention razer lately it seems more like you dislike the brand than the actual products. This isn't inherently a bad thing, its fine to hate a brand, but it doesn't reflect back on you well sometimes.

Anyway, my suggestions for a keyboard would be this: if you want a fairly cheap mechanical keyboard that you know will last you, grab a razer black widow 2016 or another one of their older models. But I also suggest taking a look at some of the custom options on WASD Keyboards as they allow for nice customization, though many of the custom and non custom keyboards seem to be pretty expensive (ranging from $95 to around $140). I hear WASD Keyboard's products are great, but considering I don't have one and can't speak to its quality myself, i'd suggest proceeding with caution but giving it a shot if you have the money.

Imagine being so stuck up and smug about how "right" your side is you try to use a natural disaster to discredit the other side rather than trying to aid in rebuilding in anyway.

Welcome to 2017.

You know exactly what I mean, sorry if I made you a tad mad by making people like you look like snobs lad.

The point is sides don't matter when it comes to stuff like this, most people understand that. There are of course people like you who take this situation and try to use human suffering to make their 'side' look better. Take a look at the amount of people trying to help victims of these hurricanes and you will see people from all sorts of political standings. Not everyone tries to make every event that occurs political, and im sorry if that bothers you.

Yeah, you are, thanks for proving it. Thanks as well for ignoring my point about, and giving a great example of, making everything political because thats the root of your problems.

Allow me to be of assistance though, because luckily for you I come from a reality where not everything has to be "fuck trump and capitalism, but them anarchists tho" or "fuck anarchists and communism, but them capitalists tho".

Rather than post about how much capitalism is ruining your life and anarchy is the one true lord and saviour of man kind, post links to ways people can either directly or indirectly support victims of harvey as well as people currently in the path of hurricane irma. Try to help organize events an other such things that would make it so people don't have to loot then get arrested (To touch on this for a second, 'looted for their survival' yeah and also further fucking the lives of people who have already lost so much and possibly taking the supplies the people it belongs to need to survive. They should get arrested for that). A novel idea I know, supporting the people suffering rather than taking the oppurtunity to talk about how much 'the man' sucks and peddle your opinions on politics.

Edit: Ive been trying to get together a really big list of relief funds and put them in a pastebin, but for now heres a few you can donate too

GHCF Fund
Global Giving fund
and if you are a fan of GDQ events, GDQ Harvey Relief Done Quick donation site

Please donate if you can and even if you don't spreading the word helps.

Excuse me? You realize people are looting residential homes right? With people still there? Also how this will ruin mom and pop shops who need that money to live? I'm sorry I don't align with your honestly poor opinions, but if you are going to treat everyone who disagrees with you like some sort of heathen and threat to peoples humanities, I suggest looking in a mirror. Again, thanks for ignoring the parts of my argument that don't support your needs, it was a pleasure. Im sure i'll enjoy what is probably my incoming ban.
