Last view: 2697 days ago 		This reminds me that I need to figure out how to set up an IRC daemon at some point on my Ubuntu 14.04 VPS. I've tried Inspircd and got it working but could not get the services to work no matter what. :(

Edit: I managed to get ircd-hybrid + anope working on my Ubuntu 14.04 VPS. Not advertising tho o_O

Not sure if I'd be accepted on BadnikZONE considering my bad past at Jul and Kafuka, otherwise I'd make a channel on their network. ^^

Anyway, who here (besides StapleButter) still uses IRC? I do, considering that I've literally just opened a server running ircd-hybrid and anope. I feel IRC is still relevant in things like open source projects and dedicated communities, while Discord works a lot better for those communities that are less dedicated.

Last view: 2697 days ago 		I get what you mean. Most people moved on to other things, although I feel IRC still has a purpose and the fact it's completely open as opposed to other services, means that it supports freedom, and I like that philosophy. :)

I use Discord a lot because my friends aren't big enough nerds to know how to use IRC but I personally love IRC, mostly because of the variety of clients and platforms you can use it on.

Yeah, IRC can be used practically anywhere. I wish more people would use IRC...

But yeah, you're right, there isn't a terrible pre-order culture with Nintendo as it is with Ubisoft and Nintendo is very straight-forward with showing off their games while other companies tend to rely on dishonest CG trailers and edited voice-overs on their gameplay.

Out of all the good things about Nintendo, this is one I never bothered to notice properly but definitely appreciate about them. I mean I don't like their business decisions - hence why I sort of refuse to buy a Switch (other than the fact no F-Zero NX will ever come out) - but they do make good decisions sometimes and actually being open about gameplay is a good thing, it shows they're being more honest than some devs.
