So, I just took a look at the latest build off the uploader, and, unless i'm missing something, is there no way to switch the area? Like go from 1-1 Overworld to the Cave? Well, you bumped a two year old thread, but to answer your question, I'm pretty sure xdelta uses xdelta files now, so a version of xdelta from around 2013 should support the .patch files. You'd also need a very specific rom dump, and I don't know if that's been detailed anywhere.
If you don't get it working, there's always the original kaizo mario 64, which from what I've seen this is a port of. If you can't get this to work, try playing the original, it also has more levels and doesn't crash. So wait, they went from decent touch controls on DS, to Button only on 3DS, to gyro controls? I suppose citra will be able to run NSMB2 soon, but that's the only reason I could think of. Why not just downgrade and set up a 10.7 emuNAND? If you want to have some sort of mobile version, try removing some of the extra space throughout the board, so everything's at least slightly less far apart, and therefore bigger due to being zoomed in less.

I'd say the worst game of all time is Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, or Hong Kong '97, but those are the easy responses as they are widely known and basically anything worse would create controversy over whether it should even be called a game at that point. As for not so easy picks, i'd say the worst game I own is Sonic and the Secret Rings.
Secret Rings started as a port of Sonic 06 to the Wii (first red flag). Once the team saw the Wii's motion control, they decided to make the game focus on gimmicks to do basic things like move forward and turn. The end result is an uncontrollable on-rails mess that only a little kid who could find the fun in a paper clip and a piece of string would enjoy. I now see where all the mobile design problems stem from. Well, the site is usable, maybe add a setting to increase font sizes for things like quoting so they're easier to click. Actually, I think she is now the worst in the game, as zelda's uair might push her past jiggly on the tier list. FYI NTRcfw has streaming now, and while it isn't full FPS I'd imagine you could get something usable out of it. The problem I see is not framerate, but quality. You are correct, browserhax only works on 10.5 and under.
