So, I've tried to research this myself a ton, found every possible resource on model importing to SM64DS that I could get my hands on, and still no dice. Whenever I import a model, the texture's colours get messed up. Easiest way to explain is a picture:

Also, here's a link to the model in skp form and obj form, if this helps for figuring it out.

With that out of the way, I'll go into more detail just in case. The editor used for the imports in the picture is this fork, however the problem also occurs on the R104 official version grabbed from the locked and pinned last download thread.

I used Sketchup 2017's built in exporter to get the obj file, the textures were on the front (white) side of the model, and here's a picture of the export settings. [thumbnail]

If you're wondering why only a couple things are textured, I want to make sure it works before I do the whole model, so I don't end up redoing absolutely everything.

Thanks for your time.

That PC should be able to run Dolphin at playable speeds, I have an awful awful bulldozer laptop that can still run stuff like Melee at 60FPS (Melee is one of less demanding games overall actually). What games are you trying? Also, mind posting all your Dolphin settings? Screenshots would be ideal.

Worked perfectly, thanks. Made a quick lua script to do it for me. For anyone interested:

io.output("new.mtl", a)

for line in io.lines("old.mtl") do
if string.sub(line, 1, 2) == "Kd" then
io.write("Kd 1 1 1\n")
else
io.write(line .. "\n")
end --if
end --for

Alright then, try this: Download the latest nightly off https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ (as of writing this it's 6265, 6267 is android only), and use that instead. Change your Graphics Backend from Direct3D 11 to Vulkan, and enable Store EFB Copies to Texture only. Also make sure Dual Core is on, that should be in the other config window.

Upon rereading your post though, if Dolphin used to work and now it's slower, perhaps the problem is something else. You said it's a laptop, is it on high performance mode in the battery settings? Do you have your GPU drivers up to date? Make sure they're the latest version, usually that's a good thing, unless the latest version has issues, I don't use Nvidia at all so I'm not quite sure.

For Vulkan to show up, you need to install the latest nightly, as I said in my previous post. Download it, and extract to a folder somewhere, and run it. Or, just try DX12, it'll be buggy most likely but it might work.

But even that sounds off, if it used to work then the backend that used to work should still work. It's very likely that something wasn't reinstalled correctly, or there's something hogging resources. I couldn't tell you what without seeing it for myself though.

Atm I'm playing Resident Evil Revelations 2, as I just bought it for my Switch. It's good fun, I can see myself putting a ton of time into the raid mode alone. For $20 it was an excellent deal.

Just before that I was playing Sonic Forces on my friends cart, and honestly, I loved it, I see and agree with a lot of the critisisms of it, but they didn't halt my enjoyment of it. Would recommend it, to at least try.

I just want to see a Sonic Adventure 3. There's an insane amount of potential, all 3 gameplay styles in Adventure 2 are a blast to play, but also have plenty of room for improvement. If a truly passionate team made a sequel, even if it was similar to Mania in that it mostly recycled old levels, the end result could be absolutely beautiful.
