Why would someone elses romfs work differently? Why even continue trying this? Just go install a cfw and I'll make you a layeredfs patch for it, and you won't have to worry about hans. Again, HANS is glitchy, it could very well just be a case of smea only fixing the ntsc version of nsmb2, with the other two left to rot.

(side note, you could also install an ntsc version of nsmb2 gold edition which is a legit cia and can be installed without cfw, and try using that)

Yeah, use fbi, make sure you get a legit cia off that iso site, things like FunKEYcia won't work.

Uhh, ASM hacking? You could change it however you like. It's literally just modifying the code in a slight more readable (compared to binary) state.

How many courses are you planning to have total? 15 like Mario 64 or less?

It also will brick n3DS's as they failed to steal stuff correctly (doesn't unbrick 2.1 emunand before flashing to sysnand, instabrick).

Maybe, old versions of webkit are buggy. Doubt it will be anytime soon. By the time it gets fixed, you could probably save for a copy of Cubic Ninja/Freakyforms Deluxe.

Definetely not the Oculus Rift. Facebook is buying off indie devs into their DRM platform which prevents non-oculus users from playing said games. Avoid it more than the plague.

Posted on 07-02-16 01:32 AM, in Need help Figuring out NTR's sendfile Command Link | #72811
So, for the past week, I've been trying to get sendfile working on NTR's debugger, I've gotten really close, but it hates me for some reason. For reference, I'm using a n3DS, on A9LH 11.0, with NTR 3.2. The debugger is from here.

The main reason I'm trying to do this is to skip the extra steps required to test a level. There's a YouTube video that demonstrates changing the level file while the world map is open, which would mean quicker testing than even the Wii version, since on that you still had to reboot the game in Dolphin.

So, after connecting to my 3DS, i try the sendfile command as layed out in the readme, which equates to

sendfile('d:\\path\to\file.extention', '\where\to\put.extention'

So I use this command:

sendfile('d:\\1-1.sarc', '/NSMB2Hax/Courses/1-2.sarc')

It throws the error "illegal characters in path". I simplify it to the point where layeredfs wouldn't work with it, just to try and figure out what's wrong, which makes the command:

sendfile('d:\\1-1.sarc', '/1-2.sarc')

Instead of working, it throws the error "The device is not ready".

And that's where I stopped, I'm stumped. I've tried asking around a bit, but nobody seems to know how it works. So does anybody here understand this command?

Tried that, and tried changing D to the letter of the drive where the file was stored, and now it gives me the error "null" on the debugger, and my 3DS says "openFile failed: c8804478". Pressing B to get rid of the message disconnects...

And while typing I solved that error. My path was /NSMB2Hax/Courses/ instead of /NSMB2Hax/Course/. What's better is that when I was trying to get this to work a week ago, I actually got to the openFile failed error, but gave up without noticing the path. I guess the slash direction is irrelevant, because I was using the same slash directions before. IDK what I did differently, but it works now, so thanks.

I really need to update this whole guide. So much has changed since I made it it's not even remotely accurate anymore. I'll update the userland stuff and put a link to Plailect's guide soon.

I could help with quality assurance at the very least. I also have some experience with Mario level design, but I doubt it's close to the standards I saw in Newer Wii. I would love to help though, loved Newer Wii, and the other hacks that have come out recently.

IMO, after playing smash in no-items, legal stages only (no hazards, or walk offs, or general unfair stuff), the normal style of the game feels awful. Items take your chances of winning and puts it to luck. Remove them, and it's pure skill, which is how it should be. Because of this, the lack of stages is no big deal, they have about the same number of legal stages.

Also, I recommend finding a few friends with smash 3DS or using the Wii U version to play with them, CPU's will never help you, their AI is pure bullcrap. There are no mindgames, no reads, you can't practice playing well against them, unless your practicing a specific tech that the AI won't affect.

Nintendo doesn't hate romhacks, look at this project, which is actually a threat to them money wise, and they approved it: http://www.hamasakipro.com/news/

If you want to talk about them taking down the hacks, they aren't, as demonstrated by this video made by Kaze: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_gnwn535eM

If the installer doesn't work, you could try using svdt/jksv to manually put the exploit into OOT. You're on your own for that though. Try extracting the starter pack again, maybe your OOT installer is partially corrupted or something.

I'd suggest adjusting the angle to make it look more like the vanilla logo and adjusting the font of the "New" to whatever the original used (I've seen it on the internet before).

You only technically need HANS, so the more accurate question is, have a primary exploit game or an 11.0 or less 3DS? List of all exploit games are here, but if you have 11.0 or less you don't need one, and if you have 10.7 or less you can follow this.

Your problem has so many layers I don't even know where to start.

The easiest way to do it, is just follow this guide to the end, once you do that, then the pokemon issue can be considered.

Although to solve that it might be as simple as to wipe the save with fbi/jksm/svdt, still follow the guide though.

Honestly, as long as your on a recent OS, Windows Defender works just fine. Run malewarebytes every so often, and avoid shady sites as much as possible. But in 2017, stuff like AVG is just bloat.

Well, in theory what you would do is trace the code that is called when a coin is collected, and trace the code that is called when you die by enemy contact, and redirect the coin code to the death code. I don't know arm assembly myself, and if you don't, resources exist online to learn it. As for how to trace the code, I have no clue, there may be resources online for that too if you look.
