I'm essentially 100% new to sm64ds hacking, and I wanted to experiment with the bianco hills port, so i patched it to a European sm64ds rom and loaded it, and the video shows what happens when i load the rom. I've tried redownloading the rom, and redownloading xdelta, but nothing seems to work (i ran both DeSmuME and xdelta as administrator)
http://youtu.be/uHhjTJD277E (broken)

Edit: Removed the video because it's pointless, so the link now takes you to an error page.

Ugh, I hate the weather we got currently. It's nice and sunny, but...

The morning, you HAVE to take a fucking coat because temperatures are around 3°C and otherwise you freeze your ass. But then, during the day, it goes up to 10°C and more. With the sun, you end up boiling in your coat, or having to carry it around.

Blarg.

So you consider 3°C Cold? Up in Canada, 3°C in March is rare, usually its around -10°C or lower (usually lower). I heard about some city in the states where they cancelled school cause it was -10, and i really hope it was Fahrenheit, cause -10°C is barely cold at all, for us at least. My school operated at -25°C with possibly 15cm of snow. Just sayin'.

Now this is France I'm talking about, and more particularly the region around Paris :P

Here, the slightest snowfall causes traffic mess all over the place. And if it snows during the night, bus companies cancel their service as long as there's too much snow on the roads, which means courses are also cancelled because too many people would miss.

That sounds even worse then the states XD.

so funny watching the americans cancelling schools and shit cause of 1cm of snow. I remember talking to a friend that lives in Atlanta, he's like, schools cancelled, theres snow, im like... its 1cm. We need at least 15cm here in toronto

Oh wow, your in Toronto too? Cool. I think 15cm of snow fell yesterday, lets hope its still there come the end of march break, i could use a longer march break myself.

First Fortress
A whole new world is being added to Super Mario 64 DS! It will feature:
-One hub map, one level, a Mario stage and a final bowser stage
-New music
-14 Stars to collect

This is an early alpha, only includes the hub world, a Mario cap, and a door to the interior of peaches castle. The sizing is a little off and the fences are broken. I will update this post with changes often. This download will stay at this early alpha until I have the interior of the castle finished, and then i'll upload that.

Download

Use XDelta to patch. The rom you must use for patching is "0022 Super Mario 64 DS (EU)(M5)" Which is a european v1. Google the name and you should find it.

Here's a bit of footage of the Alpha Test!

The model used in the current video.

Feedback on the model used: the brick textures are way too small, it doesn't look good especially from a distance and will limit the amount/size of textures you can use without glitches/crashing.

How would I go about increasing the size of the textures?

I've run into a small issue with sm64dse, a lot of times when I start sm64dse, all the object banks say "none". Also I've noticed the objects in the level have Japanese names (e.g. the goomba's are named kuribo's). I've found the only fix to this is deleting and re-extracting the editor, but I have to do it a lot, just wondering if there is a more permanent fix.

No, i'm not moving anything, it just occurs. If it's any help, it usually happens after I delete and re-extract the rom so I can reverse crashes and such.

I've actually removed the objects, and plan to use this as a hub world, after some work to the model, i'll add a pipe and make it go directly to my level, just a quick thought, can I make custom blue coin switches? I'll most likely give 30 coins through that.

How would I go about checking? All I really know is i'm using v2.1. Although objectdb.xml can't be corrupt, since after I re-extract SM64DSe, It works, for the entire session.

Yeah, it was on, that probably will fix it. Thanks.
Edit: I've removed every single object in the castle grounds and set all the object banks to none, I also moved the warps, so Mario would spawn somewhere safe, but when I try to launch the game it makes a beeping noise like a time bomb and then desmume crashes. (happens on 0.9.10 and 0.9.9) Any idea why?

I've re-extracted the rom to start fresh, re-imported my model, and checked everything, and now I open a file, and there's no beeping noise or crash, but instead a blank white screen. Happens on both 0.9.9 and 0.9.10, I only removed all objects in star 1 and any stars, moved entrances 0-3 to above a solid surface and imported my model, nothing else. I really don't understand this error, is importing into the castle grounds just not possible?

Through much testing, I discovered I forgot to delete the texture animations on my fresh rom :(
Well it's working now, i'll modify the model and have the hub for my hack complete.

I looked at the object database and don't really understand what it's saying. If there's anybody with experience in blue coin switches, please inform me how they work. Also, HUBs done! :D

Through some thought, I realized that I need a theme to base my level upon, since generic grassy plains is not ideal. Any suggestions for level themes?

Wood levels with giant blocks like in SMB3.

Can you give me a specific level/world, I've yet to beat smb3 and barely know anything about it.

Sorry for the off-topicness here, but how did you import over the castle grounds? It always crashes for me when I do that.

By crashes, do you mean it makes a beeping sound and crashes the emu, or simply shows a white screen with no sound. If the latter, do what stomatol said. If the first, replace the file that you patched with sm64dse with the backup (or any backup) and import into that, if you mess with the minimap it will break it.

So, through a bit of thinking, I might have a Zelda style level. Original, and made in sketch up probably, unless someone with experience in blender can show me a good tutorial for modeling. Most likely based on Hyrule Field, and a Dungeon. Sorta like the new Zelda zone DLC recently released for the wii u version of sonic lost world. But yeah, Zelda level. If you like the idea, please let me know, and if you know blender, a tutorial would be nice.

I've looked on youtube before (obviously) and alot of the tutorials were rather low quality. So let me rephrase, if you know a really good tutorial for an absolute beginner to blender, please link me the video/webpage.
