games that make you press L3 to sprint on PS3 because my controllers fucked and it always presses X 0 and R1 instead of L3 lmao

That shits literally game breaking in stuff like Call Of Duty or Singularity

I've honestly kind of stopped playing on Nintendo consoles at all recently. I think all three consoles first party line-ups are a joke (maybe bar Rift Apart), the cool third party stuff is where its at

so, any reason this post is on this forum? we shouldn't have links to something like "casino.bitcoin". There's no report function and I'm too lazy to DM someone.

Last game I played was Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Was destroying some spirits and then got bored. I'm working on a new cosmetic mod though. Hope to get it done. Eventually. No, I didn't download the new update for Steve.

y not steve is cool

right now I'm playin Singularity and Deus Ex: Invisible War. Singularity is great fun, it's a corridor shooter but with a bit more SPICE. Freezing time and impulsing people to pieces is so fun, and guns like the Seeker or the bullet time Kaminov Sniper are so much fun to use. Really liking it so far. Invisible War is great too, it always gets a bad wrap being stuck between Deus Ex, and Human Revolution, but I think it's a really fun game, and it more plays into the cheesy spy thriller aspect of the first game, where as Human Revolution leant more into the idealogical and political side of it.

I also need to get back to Final Fantasy 13, and Dead Space, those games were really fun.

Using controller buttons to dash is just a weird way to dash, but I think that's implemented in Horizon Zero Dawn in PS4 and I didn't have much issue with it?

I think alot of games have forgotten the entire point of the ANALOG stick, you push it in a little to walk, you push it in all the way to run. I get that for shooters like Singularity like I mentioned that they were probably designed for PC using binary button inputs, but I still don't think it's too much to ask for analog character movement to be implemented into a console game.

I just stopped playing on consoles altogether. Whatever I can't play on PC natively I just emulate. I realized how much of a joke console gaming is. You gotta buy three $300+ systems every console generation (so every 6-7 years or so) to get everything. Thanks, but no thanks.

I mean I usually just to stick to one machine, which is usually PlayStation. Most console exclusives are p good or ok, I have 14 platinums on PSN and I think only one of them came from a playstation exclusive.

First I had to update my mods including spirit information and msbts and that's a bit of a lengthy process, but a pain. I did eventually update and I did get Steve, but right now, I haven't updated my game for Pyra / Mythra and I actually aggressively don't care for those two weirdos.

The hell, didn't I report one a long while ago

Lol i don't play Smash anymore, I have like 400 hours in it, I'm pretty done with it. My friends favourite game of all time Xenoblade 2 so hes pretty fucking buzzing about Pyra, so fair enough.

Dashing in 2D platformers I get but 3D Worlds decision to have a dash button with that weird sudden burst of speed after a few seconds just boggles the fucking mind, what were they thinking? I played 3D World for the first time in February, and to honest, I wasn't a big fan. Bowser's Fury is unreal tho.

Idk why the Kirby games have it either.

The new Rockstar games running is awful, in some of their older PS2 titles, like in GTA: Vice City, you just had to hold in X and Tommy would literally run faster than 90% of the cars in that game lmao it was awesome.

The speed burst is probably your character reaching top speeds and I think makes sense if you design characters' speed stats to be different. Toad does reach that burst sooner than others. I like 3D World, but it's not my favorite of the platformers.

I think the worst mistake of 3D World besides it's recycled concepts and formulaic design is its controls, I think if you're characters are going to have different speed stats, having them just run faster would suffice.

I think it'd be fun if we each create our lists of our TOP 9 GAMES OF ALL TIME, and then idk we could all try each others favourite games lol.

Post your games!

For me it'd probably be:

-Bioshock Infinite
-Deus Ex Human Revolution
-LittleBigPlanet 2
-echochrome
-Super Mario Odyssey
-Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
-Crash Twinsanity
-Ratchet Gladiator
-Team Fortress 2

tbh i found Super Mario 3D World's controls to be really fun - not to mention, its level design is extremely good, and it hardly recycles concepts lol. but i don't think this is the thread for me to gush about 3D World

This is kind of hard for me to explain so if you think I'm just spouting bullshit thats fine lol, but hear me out.

3D World has good level design. Technically. It's never unfair, it always introduces it's mechanics well, and it always builds on them well too, but it's the same, fucking, formula, we've been seeing for Mario level design since 2006's New Super Mario Bros. There's just nothing interesting about it to me, nothing that really sets it apart from any other game, and I think that sums up the entiritey of 3D World for me. It sounds good, plays, and is well designed but it's just so uninspired, it feels like it was made on an assembly line. It reminds me of Call Of Duty, plays well, is pretty fun sometimes yeah, and is well designed, but it's so uninteresting.

Now mind you, Super Mario Odyssey, THAT SHIT FUCKING ROCKS so all is forgiven.

Since this thread is now about SM3DW, I'll say that I have really enjoyed playing it (for the first time on Switch). Still have to do the last challenge house and Champion's Road. Plus beat every level with every character I guess..

Three things that annoy me about the game:
- It's not really 3D, or I guess technically it is, but I don't like that you can't change the camera all the way around like in other 3D games.
- Time. Why are the levels timed!? I felt like I was running out of time a lot of times when I explored a level or searched for stars or stamps. No other 3D Mario games have time, so why does this one?
- The depth perception fucking suuuucks! Also hitboxes. Countless times I've been right next to a star, but since I'm a pixel away from it I don't get it until I move closer, or I've tried to jump on a Boom Boom, but since I can't tell where the fuck I'm going to land, I've missed and ended up getting smashed in the face by his spinning attack instead.

Yeah level time is really confusing to me aswell. I don't think it's an awful game but compared to other platformers and Mario games it really isn't anything special to me.

It's hard for me to pinpoint my favorite games of all time but if I go by genre I can always try.

2D platformer: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
3D platformer: A Hat in Time
Adventure/Open world: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
RPG: Persona 5
Visual novel: CLANNAD
EDIT: wait didn't see the top 9 part so I'll add four more games, here goes:
Star Revenge 3.5: Vacation of Cursed Dreams
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga
The Stanley Parable
Super Mario Bros. X

I've never heard of CLANNAD or Star Revenge, so I'll check them out. I've been reccomended Hat In Time a few times so it's definitely on my list also.

DKC Tropical Freeze I think is probably undisputably the best 2D platformer ever made, the only reason LBP2 is on my list instead is because of the impact that game had on ME personally, it really made interested in the idea of making my own games, which I do ocassionally now lol.

haha stanley parable is also sick, played that years ago, maybe like christmas 2014 or 15?

I've hardly played any games that aren't AAA Nintendo games so uh

I'll just say all of the 3D Mario platformers

Miitopia and Shovel Knight are pretty great too

would you not get bored only playing nintendo stuff? Theres so much good vidya out there to play lol, believe me I can make a few reccomendations. Mario Odyssey is rlly good tho, so fair.

I used to be Nintendo-only too. Back in late elemetary school and middle school I was sometimes mocked for playing Mario games, since other kids perceived them as being "baby" games. This might have caused others to stop playing them, but for some reason I thought I had to stick to my guns and keep playing only Nintendo games. It took me a long time to realize that maybe games didn't have to be on a Nintendo console to be good. I might not have admitted it back then, but I definitely looked down on the other kids because they played what I thought were "mindless shooters".

People were p mean to me when I was younger too for playing "baby games". Eventually you get to the age where no one really cares about that stuff anymore, and as long as you're sound, and you don't make your hobby your personality, people will probably end up even liking you lol.

I always looked down on Call Of Duty and its kin too, which is pretty funny to me now, considering how many first person shooters I play, seriously I love this genre so much.

Nope, don't play alot of Japanese stuff, and I don't think I've ever played a visual novel before.

What are, to you, the 5 most important elements of a fun action game?
