Hi! found a link to this from youtube, really enjoyed the tech demo, was wondering what is the musical state of the project? i love doing video game remixes/original work, and reorchestrations, i did a couple of mario ones years ago for fun, but if it would be something you guys would be intrested in, id love to do some re-orchestrations/remixes or medleys for the project. just so you get an idea of what i do, you can check my channel, heres a funk version of bomb-omb battle field i did a few yrs back!

also heres a slightly newer song i did its from castlevania, just so you can hear the kinda sounds i can get

so new orchestrations based on mario themes (taking melodies and developing them) or entirely new compositions in a "mario style" would be cool. what would be really useful, if you dont already have it, is maybe a rundown of all the music required, such as if its a level theme a brief description of the circumstances, level style, overall feel, or for situational/event music or charachter based, what is happening to who etc, its always cool to work with these sort of ideas in your head. and thanks for the welcome :)

yes i am up for orchestral rendering and helping with composition, ive not done much full orchestral stuff recently though i do alot of wind, string sections heres an old video i did with quite a large orchestral set. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLSD7C8a_kA

as im sure you could tell from my youtube, i love video game music, and its hard to get motivation for composition unless your working actively towards something.

also heres a semi orchestral arrangement/variation i wrote on an earthbound theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f61PQ4qmKGo&list=PL8F914137D7665374&index=50

got bored while teaching piano today, started writing a composition in my head unfortunately its only finished in my head, but i grabbed about 30mins to start transcribing it, i thought of you guys because i thought, hey this work would nice as a sort of "anticipating a boss fight" road to bowser type track, tell me what you think? is this the sorta style you want, wasnt sure about drums or using orchestral perscussion, but i thought back to that bowser track from n64 and thought.. hey.. bowsers clearly a drummer!! http://tindeck.com/listen/suea

mate, i heard what you mean too, i like the drums but the build up its abit strange, ive alredy wrote the rest i havent transcripted it yet though, basically the string backing does something similar and the piano chord progression is essentially the same but im going to play with the texture abit, using different shape arpeggios, the piano is the main part,im a pianist, but i did want some backing for this, as piano alone sounds abit bare, though im willing to try it, see how it works, might give it a sense of forboding like the mario64 final boss theme thats basically just organ!, i will finish this, but it was mostly just to test the water, to see if you guys like the style that i write, etc. and dont worry about criticism im really not one of those guys who gets all pissed off about advice, opinions etc lol

ok heres the no percussion version also added a retardando to stop it being boring!, what do you guys think of the cello part, too jarring? or kinda cool, cant make my mind up, its the string part at the beginning that is very chromatic. http://tindeck.com/listen/unwt by interactive do you mean like live tempo changes or transposition, because thats normally an option within the engine itself,

yes i know what you mean, vst strings generally do not appreciate being played staccato, but it kinda had to happen for the piece lol, i have got some better "staccato" strings, or i could even do it as pizzicato, but it takes a bit more work, specially if you want to have a mixture of sounds. and just a though, u could always do a mixdown of a track, as a sort of basic version and super deluxe version, and have it play them both simultaneously but bring the volume up on the frilly bits, in appropriate places if you get what i mean. but i think tempo changes are likely to sound strange, unless the algoritm is very good, as even dedicated DAWs can have trouble with that

here is my latest version. ive extended and looped it in a way which makes sence, it has some tempo changes but it works i think and it returns to the correct tempo before it ends, i also think that maybe the second half of this song i could create an entirely new piece based around the melody. Have a listen!

ive been working on that tune, somewhat, ive added a few different instruments and a decent sounding loop, if you guys still think it should be longer, i can have another crack at it, personally i think it works. https://soundcloud.com/gintokipianist/warpedwarzone

https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=KbWgVi667b7DYseD drums removed, left in some drum reverb to stop it sounding too dry but what do you think? i think it gives it quite a ghoulish quality like this!

its quite nice, i like it, has it been mastered though? it still has that feeling of sitting and watching a room full of people, u it probably needs some mastering to make it feel more sparkly.
