as for battle for bikini bottom i haven't played it but hopefully i'll get the chance to now that it's potentially being remade


I have a friend who's obsessed with trying to speedrun the sponge-bob games, and according to him "all of them are pretty good but, battle for bikini bottom is superior" so he's gonna be super hyped when he hears about this.

Besides Animal Crossing, what are some other slice-of-life games I can play?


The only other one I really know of is Tomodachi life which is pretty good but, loses it's charm after you play it for more than 15 hours

by based on do you mean porting levels? because a similar concept is already in development, or do you just mean styling levels around more of a feel those games have either way the "new objects (maybe)" cannot be a maybe for that to work. Also when posting a hack, make sure you have pictures and development already coming along. not just an idea.

This isn't a bad idea at all! can't wait to see what comes from it.
(although most people prefer if when you post a hack you post 1 or two images as proof it's being worked on and it give's a better idea)

That's not really an explanation or any real tips whatsoever.
but, if this is a post about level design I've been wanting to share my thoughts on it for a while so I might as well

(Tip One)
Follow Nintendo's level design formula: Find a concept, start the level with the concept in a relatively safe area (or make sure the Player is aware of the concept using signs text boxes or make it easy to be aware or understand just by looking) then once you've done that expand on the concept as the level goes on. Flip-Swap galaxy makes great use of this formula. It starts out directly telling you how the flip-panels work (via the star bunny saying: "Jump, Spin, Make em flip") and starts you out in an easy environment with a few flip-panels that you can traverse quite easily to get to the next safe platform, now as the level goes on it expands on the concept by adding chomps and lasers that you have to use the flip-panels to destroy or avoid. Along with the safe platforms getting farther a part increasing difficulty.

(Tip Two)
Well what I said about always using the Nintendo level design formula isn't always true, Super Mario galaxy also uses Themed-levels which are galaxies that well... fit a certain theme. They use a bunch of smaller concepts but, using decoration and a few themed-based concepts. These are often easier to create than Formula-based galaxies but, can still be fun nonetheless.

Quick Note
You can make galaxies without using the Nintendo formula and not making them based around a theme. But! this makes it very difficult to make a good level. If done right it can make some amazing creations but, most often it ends badly so I advise against it.

(Tip Three)
End your galaxies with a finale. This should be the hardest part of the level and should use all or most of the things you built up when expanding on the original concept. (Examples to look at would be the end of Hightale Falls star 1 or Chomp works Star 1) A galaxy with a great finale can make it memorable and great. The finale can really make or break a good galaxy so make sure it's done right.

Quick Note Two
Many of the points I made in the post can also work with other Mario game ROM hacks or custom levels. (Not to mention Super Mario Maker).

So go out an make a great level!

when I was I minecraft squeaker (quite a few years ago mind you) those used to be the only comments I every got. SUB 4 SUB. NICE VIDEO CHECK OUT MY CONTENT PLZZZ. HEY YOU COULD BE MONETIZING YOUR VIDEOS PARTNER WITH ME PLZZ PAL FRIEND. but, I've unlisted those videos and restarted my youtube channel now. and I don't get those anymore which is nice (but, I don't have many people watching my videos anyways. I only get around 100 views per regular video and maybe 500-1000 on a super mario galaxy hacking video). I've only gotten one sub 4 subber on my channel and I kinda messed with him enough to make him stop bothering me at least.

If it's "basically" another galaxy like you just said, then it's probably not a new creative idea. Also that idea doesn't seem to use any new or creative concepts whatsoever.

it's definitely coming out in 2018. I would personally say it's about 85% done, but that's just my stance since I can't speak for the whole team.
