Bowser's Flood by FireMario74 - 8 stars - Download

This was a test hack I made using the old SM64DS Editor because I didn't know it was so old. I was also unaware that the ds can only handle so many polygons. And Well the map was drawn in paint. I really had no idea how to hack SM64DS back then. I think I made that before I joined Kuribo64 even. Anyways feel free to play it, just don't say I didn't warn you. It's pretty bad!

Okay I thought you were using .obj files to make the texture scroll. In the case of .obj files you need to open the .mtl files in notepad to see the material name. But I didn't know you were using .dae files.

Congrats to all who made it! :D I got 4th in most helpful and 2nd in most likely to get promoted. I am really honored to have been apart of this! Thank you so much you guys! Even if this is just for fun it still makes me real good about myself! Also considering there are literally over a thousand users on this board that could have easily gotten these awards. It really means a lot to me to have been a part of this, and to have placed where I did! Congrats again to those of you who made it! And to those who didn't make it: You'll have your year, this year you may not have made it but that doesn't mean you'll never make it! Good luck to everyone of you for next year! ;)

Why is it that every now and again I load a page and the user pics are upside down?

How would I make it so when for example Luigi goes into his own door Yoshi comes out? How would I make it so Mario comes out instead of Yoshi? Thanks

In the asm patch template, you would do

void hook_020BE1E0_ov_02()
{
asm
(
"cmp r1, #0x3 \t\n"
"moveq r1, #0x0 \t\n"
);
}

This hooks the method that is called when the player changes characters. If R1 (which has the character id) is equal to #0x3 (Yoshi's ID), then set it to #0x0, which is Mario's character id.

Could you convert this to hex for me? I have had troubles getting the asm template working. Thanks for the help man!

It says 21 bots are online right now, what are the bots for? And why does it change from 21 to sometimes 19 to 22 to whatever the number ends up being? Just curious.

Turns out, that hook is completely unnecessary. There is a line of code that detects if a character enters their own door.

EUR:
02144588: moveq r1, #0x0

Search 03 10 A0 03 04 00 A0 E1 in your ROM and change the 03 to 00 for Mario, 01 for Luigi, 02 for Wario, and 03 for Yoshi.

Worked like a charm! Thanks a lot man!
New problem. I want to replace the model for the key to Mario's door. Whereabouts would that model be located? Or does anyone know? Thanks

No the models are different. You were right about the cap but the mario key also has an M engraved on it. Differences:

EDIT: Via animation editor I found the bowser key but I can't find Mario's key. It's located in the normal_obj folder labeled koopa_key

I got the key replaced and working perfectly :D. But I have one more issue, does anyone know how to delete the Mario hat that spawns on top of the key? Thanks!

It looks really good so far. Any reason the particles are so messed up? Also why did you feel the need to show the same video 3 times? Just curious, other than that though it looks great!

OMG YES! I've been waiting SO long for a sequel! This reminds me of an old action replay code I used to use. However it removed everything's animations. Way to make a weird hack weirder!

How many members have been banned from this forum?

If you had to unban 1 member who would it be(assuming you can't render their account unusable)

If you had to ban 1 member who would it be?

Do you enjoy answering the questions asked on this thread?

One last question. I want to make a dank meme ds hack, how far would be too far to go with the humor? Thanks! :)

This is flat out amazing! I want to test this and maybe use this for a hack if that's alright with you(Of course I'll credit you). Unfortunately when I went to patch it I got an error. What version of the rom did you patch this to? Thanks in advance, and thank you for making this!

What's your favorite item that in the item shop?

Have you ever played SM64 Chaos Edition and if so how far have you made it?

How did you get your hands on a NSMB2 rom? I almost got a virus from one site.

What is your favorite rom hack of all time?

What game have you enjoyed hacking the most?

Can I have some pancakes?

It's looking great so far! But I want to point out something that's bothered me for a lot of rom hacks that I think should be done.

This is an example of seems in textures. To fix this you can simply right click the texture image,
and click projected like so:
[image]
And finally once you've projected the texture you'll wanna hold alt while using the paint bucket tool and click the projected texture. Then simply texture the rest of the area that uses the desired texture. You should be resulted with something like this:
[image]
I hope I helped!
You may also find these tutorials helpful for modeling and texturing:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSl4_fotpZw&list=PLY9TGb7t9kuFLFIub-I3IOpi6NNsIL413
I understand it's for mario 64 hacking but it applies to anything that involves 3d modeling(such as sketchup. assuming that's what you're using if not you should use it to fix those seems)
I wish you luck in this hack! I can't wait to play it! :D
