Started college, had significantly less time to work on it, decided to spend time/energy on other things. Now It's better, but it's been so long...
Anyhow, I'm still left with some problems that I need to eventually solve: -BoB hasn't stopped crashing. Probably going to end up starting over, but that's only part of a larger issue, which is: -I absolutely have no idea what to do with BoB's seven stars. The other missions were designed around a concept I had, but I just can't think of one for BoB. I'm thinking of making it a 1/2-star secret mission instead, but that means only ~20 stars would be present. That wouldn't be much of an issue if there wasn't: -no way to add a progression block at 15-20 stars (which would be needed for ???????). Unless there's an easy way to make 3-star doors require 20 stars, the 100%-ending would have to happen as early as 12 stars, when there are at least 19 complete. So, here are my options moving forward: -Scale back, have 20 stars instead of 30. Look into memory editing for adding a 20-star door, then add ???????. This would mean the complete version could release very soon, but wouldn't be much more than the current demo (That + 1 secret star + Final Battle (unlocked at 8) + ??????? (unlocked at 20-stars)) -Somehow come up with a concept for BoB that could span an entire 8-star level (Someone else would have to help me with that), remake it with that in mind, and continue as-planned for 30 stars. Would still have progression issues, but the game would be complete with no issues. However, this could take a while. -Fix the crashing issue, and continue from there. The entire first star is modeled, and I can just build a level around that; I did have some semblance of a concept initially. Wouldn't take nearly as long but... still gotta figure out why it's crashing, and I don't have the slightest idea how. Here is the ROM, if anyone else wants to take a look, go ahead. If anyone has any idea where/how to look, that would also be appreciated. All I know is that if you enter certain parts of the map, it freezes; may or may not have to do w/the water bombs. I'll default to the first option if no one has any opinions- It's the most likely to succeed by far and the only one guaranteed to bring significant progress- but I'll leave it open to discussion for now. Anyhow, 1:00 AM for me, gotta sleep. But thanks for reminding me this exists, I would have totally left it alone. (So... progress = very little) ____________________ |
