In sm64ds the y direction is up but in sketchup z direction is up. If you look at the colors of the axes you will see that the model is in the same orientation relative to them. You need to rotate your model so that the green y axis points 'up' in the level model.

Btw i recommend you to use blender instead because it has many useful features sketchup doesn't have. With blender you can do shading with vertex colors for example.

that, and Sketchup follows bad practices from what I hear- aka it's not made with actual game design in mind.

Use obj if you're not already.

I wouldn't recommend using obj because of its limitations. It doesn't support vertex colors as dae does.

also did you uncheck the "convert to tri strips" button? I know it says strongly recommended but it will help to uncheck it. I haven't had any problems doing that yet.

No. Triangulate the model instead. If you uncheck "convert to tri strips", you may experience lag if your model has a lot of polygons.

Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256

Any map on a flat torus can be colored with at most 7 colors.

you could also just export one of the sides and not both.

by the way, there's a discord server for sm64ds hacking (you may already be on it, but i wanna let you know just in case). Almost all of gota7's messages have a link to the discord server
