Hi, today I wanted to tell you about how you can design amazing, unique galaxies
Not import one, see a tutorial on it
So, when I was looking for a good model, I found this

Link https://clara.io/view/48007313-c51c-4a9f-b4bf-8bb83067fefd#
I like that it's
-spacey
-unique
-satilite design

So here are some guidelines
-use unique designs,pictures,illusions,etc
-make it not too complicated
-add special effects
-and don't forget, make it a .obj file
thank you

That's not really an explanation or any real tips whatsoever.
but, if this is a post about level design I've been wanting to share my thoughts on it for a while so I might as well

(Tip One)
Follow Nintendo's level design formula: Find a concept, start the level with the concept in a relatively safe area (or make sure the Player is aware of the concept using signs text boxes or make it easy to be aware or understand just by looking) then once you've done that expand on the concept as the level goes on. Flip-Swap galaxy makes great use of this formula. It starts out directly telling you how the flip-panels work (via the star bunny saying: "Jump, Spin, Make em flip") and starts you out in an easy environment with a few flip-panels that you can traverse quite easily to get to the next safe platform, now as the level goes on it expands on the concept by adding chomps and lasers that you have to use the flip-panels to destroy or avoid. Along with the safe platforms getting farther a part increasing difficulty.

(Tip Two)
Well what I said about always using the Nintendo level design formula isn't always true, Super Mario galaxy also uses Themed-levels which are galaxies that well... fit a certain theme. They use a bunch of smaller concepts but, using decoration and a few themed-based concepts. These are often easier to create than Formula-based galaxies but, can still be fun nonetheless.

Quick Note
You can make galaxies without using the Nintendo formula and not making them based around a theme. But! this makes it very difficult to make a good level. If done right it can make some amazing creations but, most often it ends badly so I advise against it.

(Tip Three)
End your galaxies with a finale. This should be the hardest part of the level and should use all or most of the things you built up when expanding on the original concept. (Examples to look at would be the end of Hightale Falls star 1 or Chomp works Star 1) A galaxy with a great finale can make it memorable and great. The finale can really make or break a good galaxy so make sure it's done right.

Quick Note Two
Many of the points I made in the post can also work with other Mario game ROM hacks or custom levels. (Not to mention Super Mario Maker).

So go out an make a great level!

that first post is.. more of a much request than a tip. a very specific request, specifying even the format.

also, just because you like a model that looks neat, doesn't mean it's useful in a galaxy composed of several models.
can you see anywhere it would fit in a full galaxy? if yes, shouldn't you look for more models to complete your idea before to make a thread? and if you do have a solid idea of what you want, why not try and make it happen through your own effort?

I could also share some tips:

Tip 1:
Choose a concept and stick with it. Find creative uses for them. For example, say you want to use the bubble shooters. Those could be used to transport the player, remove powerups, and you use them as enemies. Find a creative concept for your levels.

Tip 2:
Stick with a theme. It's important to choose a theme for your galaxy and clearly stick with it. And grassland is overrated. Take Shiverburn for example. It starts with a clear lava theme, with lava-themed enemies like Octoombas. The skybox helps the mood a lot (well not the HellValleySkyTrees, but that's a different story), so try to use a matching one. If that requires you to model something, great! Then the level moves to an ice theme and uses exclusively the circle laser things and some Elite Octoombas, which still work with the ice theme. The level goes on, utilizing the cloud flower to make some more challenging jumps later on easier, but lets you run out of clouds so the level is not too easy.

Tip 3:
Looking back to my previous point, use custom models! Anyone can make a galaxy with a couple RedBlueExStepA and B's, but those are (usually!) less fun as you don't discover something new when you play it. It's just a random collection of random platforms floating in space. When you make a level model, you can establish a mood really well; the player will feel more engaged. First, imagine a random collection of platforms with some Boos. Then imagine a Luigi's Mansion styled planet where you get to explore all around and there are ghosts hiding in the trees etc. Does that sound more exciting?

Tip 4 (I promise I'm done after this one):
Use the Nintendo formula! As Jason said, Nintendo-designed levels usually follow a specific structure. First, they introduce a mechanic, like a powerup, and let you play around with it in a safe environment. There are some areas in the first part that challenge the player but only give a small reward (like a 1-up or coins in more recent games). After the player has learned to use that specific mechanic, he/she is given a more challenging area that usually has a bigger consequence if you fail, as the player now knows how to use it. The galaxy ends with a final challenge that combines all the skills the player has learned this far.

Tip 5:

jk that's all I will make u read because this wall of text is big enough already.

If it's "basically" another galaxy like you just said, then it's probably not a new creative idea. Also that idea doesn't seem to use any new or creative concepts whatsoever.

oh, that creative idea

Yes, originality does matter when creating custom galaxies

For example, let's say if we want a lava galaxy
You make one but it is like Melty Molten (or Monster) Galaxy
So then don't add any pull stars or lava monster

Add Lazers,Electric Stuff,or Chompballs

But don't do just a stage reskin, unless you're making a 2nd mission or something.
If you're making a completely original galaxy, make it original! Actually use models! That is something that would definitely help a lot of creative levels. Choose an idea, plan out your stage, make its models, place enemies etc, make sure the game doesn't decide to crash for no reason.

Please you don't need to use spoilers for everything. and maybe don't constantly reply with 1-2 word answers.

Wow this guy is making my day. His go to response to very helpful criticism is: “thanks”

True, but hopefully these tips will benefit to all the people which will read them, including me ;)
So I thank very much JasonTGF and TheSunCat for their very useful advices!

The post quality gets better every-time I look at this page.
You should read the full post and not just scan for keywords like Iyenal said. It'll prevent your questionable responses...
