Hi MeTheMarioMan.

I love Super Mario Galaxy 64 Holiday Special.

One problem though. I'm stuck on Into the Igloo. When I knock out the 3 ice guys on the floating ice rink platform (above the 6-hit Life Mushroom), the Ice Flower does not appear. I've tried to get it to spawn several times by approaching the platform different ways, without success.

Besides creating a new save game, is there a way to get past this? Perhaps a save game edit?

I'm looking forward to trying out the final SMG64. If you need a beta tester, I could spend an inconsistent 2 to 7 hours each week on it. :-)

You still completed it? Way to go! I eventually got past that point too, but gave up after all that swimming and too many deaths to those rolling Urchins. It's difficult difficult lemon difficult! That's cool that it's still beatable.

If the purple coin level or this level had a time limit, I'd probably go crazy.

Um, that shouldn't happen, so I'm assuming you're playing on Dolphin. In which case, the Ice Flower's not gonna work.

Surprised people are still playing this.

Wii soft mod + Riivolution. If your current work is toward 4K graphics, take note that some of us (just me?) are happy with Wii compatible graphics.

This might come across as a pretty stupid sounding question, however I was wondering if anybody could direct me on how I would get the Super Mario Galaxy 64: Holiday Special to work on the Dolphin Emulator? I'm kind of new to the whole ROM hacking / Wii hacking scene, so I'm completely lost... I'd appreciate it greatly if somebody could get back to me on this relatively soon.

I would like to commend MeTheMarioMan though, as from the footage which I have viewed, the game looks AMAZING!

You'll have to work that out for yourself as it requires downloading an illegal dump of the game and then acquiring patches and applying them in Dolphin. I'll link the patches but the rest you'll need to work out yourself.

or you know, they could dump the game themselves using their own smg2 disc :P

assuming they have one, that is. if not, then yea, you'd have to *illegally* get the iso

if you do have the iso though, you can extract the iso, download the holiday special mod, replace the necessary files (mod has file1.arc, replace file1.arc. file isn't there, don't replace it), compile the iso, and it should be playable.

but again, seriously, dump the game. unless you have bought it before but lost it/broke it/scratched it etc etc there should be no reason for you not to buy the disc and dump it on a homebrew enabled wii.

Hey, only asking because it's been pretty much two years since the last reply to this thread (holy crap), but is there any updates as far as the release date, anything new, getting close to finishing anything, or whatever?
