Discord is one of the reasons that AIM is going/went under. IRC wouldn't of been popular had it not been the Acmlm boards using it. I know this place and Kafuka use it but those may switch over to Discord since you can use that in your browser as I think IRC is completely external (as in you need to download something rather than an applet opening in browser)

Discord was released in 2015. IRC was first introduced in 1988. I think saying AIM went under for that reason is bullshit, and your logic saying "IRC wouldn't of been popular had it not been the Acmlm boards using it" pretty much concludes that you are completely ignorant on what you are talking about.
