I think the title is very good at describing this idea.
Here it is: I want to have a custom hub world. Kind of like in SM64, I want to be able to walk into a painting (or maybe something else) and go into a stage. I have an idea for this, but it is only theoretically possible. Here's my steps ( 1. Create a zone for each galaxy (as to not be affected by object limit of MarioFaceShipGalaxy) 2. Place a teleporter where you want the entrance of the galaxy to be in the hub world (the glowing things in the Comet Observatory/FaceShip, or pipes, or PetitPorters with no timer (if that's even possible), or anything you can think of 3. Make it spit you out at your "galaxy" Only one problem: Stars I could use a group switch, but how would you know how many stars you collected (by stars, I mean whatever I made the switches be)? My best idea would be to use a switch that unlocks a specific door to a galaxy, but then I wouldn't have a counter for stars, just a star that unlocks another one. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, ~TheSunCat |

Er... we could also just take the World Map objects and scale them down, then place them onto Starship Mario.
IIRC that should just be how it works. I know it worked that way with SMG1 but I don't think they changed that. ____________________ yeah |

I think you do not understand what I am saying...
EDIT: I pressed enter and it posted... Weird... Here's the rest of the post: Here is my current setup (excluding a few things I prefer to keep private): You go from the FaceShip to my planet (a model of something) with a pipe. There, the camera is different, the SkyBox is different, the gravity is different, etc. I want to be able to enter certain areas and be warped into a galaxy (like in SM64 and Sunshine). I do not specifically need the star select screen, as I have a solution for that. How would your idea work? What WorldMap objects? The steering wheel? That one brings you to the world map screen (which I don't want, unless you can only select the galaxy specific to that zone. What I need is basically a different WorldMap. Where you can play. And it is over MarioFaceShipGalaxy. |

There's an object from the beginning of the game that could help you here.
An area that teleports Mario from one galaxy to another with a fade to white and then the star select. It's called SceneChangeArea. You can change the place the area goes to by using a Riivolution patch. However the location is hardcoded so you either need to add (or find) an object argument that changes the area OR make duplicate entries of the object, each with their own location. Should you successfully do either of those things... ____________________ Irony is the spice of life. |

SunCat, I basically meant the objects that appear on the World Maps - the Mini-Galaxies.
Also, yea, THAT way of doing your idea sounds very far-fetched. ____________________ yeah |

JakoNintenCraft: I doubt I will be able to CODE custom stuff for this hack... If you want to help, you are welcome to. But I have no idea where to even start.
HEYimHeroic: Those are spawned through a handler. Try going into WorldMap01Galaxy in Whitehole. |

If you're not going to be able to use ASM, you might as well get this idea out of your mind.
Your current method is illogical and would most definitely crash due to object overload. |

That is why I would add a new zone (each zone has its own object limit, music, etc, right?). But it is quite illogical, hence the title. I just posted in case anyone has an idea. For now, I will just populate my hub world to make it worthy to explore and have the worldmap access thing near the spawn.
