Heh, reading back through this thread is funny. It should've appeared to be obvious even back when FNAF2 first came out that the game is a prequel. This is from FNAF1:

How is this relevant? FNAF1 references the year of 1987 (though there's no year on the check), and FNAF2's check shows it takes place in 1987. For FNAF2 to take place after FNAF1, both games would have to take place in the same year, in the same month, and on the same week. Unless they have two restaurants open at once, FNAF2 is before FNAF1.

And yes, FNAF5 did get made, albeit with pretty different gameplay from the last four, and the subtitle of Sister Location. I like the game, and one of my favorite moments in the series comes from the secret ending. However, I found the game pretty unnecessary plot-wise. I kinda wish that either FNAF3 or FNAF4 ended the series, with one wrapping up the story nice enough and the other with its crypticness and dark atmosphere. The way SisLoc ended though makes me want a final sequel to wrap up the second trilogy and end the story finally.

Today happens to be FNAF's third anniversary, and as you can tell by the discussion here, it looks like there's more to come...

It's not like it's a triple A game series or anything. They really shouldn't take as long as other games to make, and they're also pretty cheap.

Anyhow...

I hope that, despite it saying there will be more games, that the sixth one will wrap up the story. I'd also prefer if the series could go back to an aesthetic like the first game, but oh well. Here's "Freakshow" Baby.
