I can take screenshots in-game, and I can make screenshots that show off what a level's theme is, kind of like Newer

That level looks pretty nice. Good work. :)

Also, how many levels have you made? And have you started the World Maps yet?

Another level preview! For the sake of time I'll copy paste the description for the most part...

With World 2 of this hack I'm aiming for something like Layer-Cake Desert from NSMBU, but a bit more realized. Part of the world takes place in the sun baked lowlands (Cinnamon Sands), and the other part of it takes place high up on a food themed mountain (Sugar Heights), and throughout the world you'll switch between these themes, for there's an enemy base in both areas. In terms of the world overall, it's a fair split of the spotlight for both themes, and each individual level has its own flair while still sticking to the theme of their area.

A very late thank you for the kind words Paul... In terms of how many levels have been made, I'll be honest with you, combined with everything this project's been through and the multiple refreshes, I would say 20 levels are done-done, with others being designed currently. It's a slow and steady process but I hope for it to lead to a higher quality hack. Matters aren't helped by IRL stuff too... but I'm working on it, which is the most important part. Things are definitely speeding up as of recent though.

The World Map is something I'm saving for later, though I have a general idea of how I want it to be set up.

Anyways, the level preview, and all.

A New Super Mario Bros. Wii hack that doesn't look like it was put together by a 12 year old in a spare Wednesday afternoon? Colour me impressed!

I'm definitely looking forward to playing this.

Promising level design, refreshing tile sets. Custom models.

What else can I ask for?

This project will be released as soon as it's finished, but there's no set release date or estimated time I can give you right now. It will be done when it's done. I really do appreciate the feedback. Massive credit and thanks should be given to people like the Newer Team for creating so many great features and joietyfull64 for making so many great assets, and last but not least PrincessAlicia for guidance in making my level design better. If it were me alone, this hack definitely wouldn't be in the state it is now. I can't wait for people to be able to finally play it, and I hope you stay tuned for new updates.

Remember to not only check out Newer Wii and Newer U, but Newer DS as well! There are links in the description to trailers for each hack.

Nice hack compliments, i would recommend doing a DS version as well so you can give everyone the chance to play even those who do not have the wii, you could also take full advantage of the DS features and also use the enemies that in nsmbw do not appear.

That's not as easy as you think... besides, there wouldn't be a point. They're working really hard and a DS version would just delay... everything. It might be possible once this Wii version is done, but highly doubtful.

The game or the tilesets?

I ask myself the same question.

DS and Wii Mario Bros are completely different. The hack would have to be completely redone.

Yes, and that would take AGES to do, especially with all the extra ASM required to bring all the things from the Wii version to the DS.

Yes. So it will probably not happen.

Definitely been absent a bit from this forum for a while. Things have been a bit hectic for me, but as was posted, a new trailer was indeed posted. I appreciate the kind words...

Recently in addition to that trailer, I've also uploaded four new videos to the channel, one showing the updated versions of Fire Flower Hill and Scorched Steppes, one showing a course from World 2 called Doki Doki Dunes, which is heavily inspired by Super Mario USA, the point being to somewhat replicate things from that game in the traditional 2D Mario style, another one showing a course from World 5 of the game, Sunset Ocean Side, that follows the Cheep Cheep Bridge course type, and finally a short little video just meant to showcase Yellow Toadette replacing Yellow Toad as a playable character, the original Toadette model edit being by StupidMarioBros1Fan. The reason for Yellow Toadette specifically being I don't want to mess with the Super Famicom color coding thing NSMBW has going on...

For this post, here are the two new course previews:

I'll make sure to better keep you guys posted on any updates that I have to share in the near future.

Mario, Luigi, and the Toads set out to collect Green Stars across the Leaf Kingdom to defeat the invading Bowser and his minions!

Not sure if a Toad and Toadette can both be referred to as Toads. :P

Nitpicking aside though, been looking forward to this hack for awhile. Best of luck! :)
