i was going yo use your waluigi head model but it froze on startup :-(

My tutorial's a little outdated now, if you have the rom of this hack you can actually just directly edit the texture's with SM64DSE, and it won't crash the game.

Every time I click on the Dropbox link it says that there is to much traffic. So, what can I do?

You can't do anything about it unless the creator uploads it elsewhere like the uploader here.

Hey there. You've done a great job with the mod so far. Very impressed with the sprite and the voices. However, the fact that the sprite on the map screen is still Mario does bother me. Not sure how hard it would be to change this, but I went ahead and modified a Waluigi head if you can find out how to replace it. I'll attach it at the end of this message. A response would be great if possible. Thanks!

ALSO. I haven't played the rom up until the point to see if you changed the Mario painting, but I also made a Waluigi painting to use as a replacement. Would make much more sense. Attached it on the bottom of this post.

Hope you like my work. It's not perfect but it was the best I could do!

ALSO ALSO, I whipped up the sprite for the lives on the bottom screen. Posted it below.

I think that everything I made is already the exact size as the real sprites, but I'm not sure. Hopefully if you just replace the original file image, it'll look perfect.

I believe that these changes would turn this rom into a real deal foolproof Waluigi mod. Up to you though. Cheers!

Hi, thanks for your feedback on my mod, I'm glad you like it! I haven't been able to figure out how to replace Mario's head sprites unfortunately, which is why I haven't replaced them so far. If someone knows how to replace them, perhaps they could help me replace them. However, I was able to replace my Waluigi painting texture with yours. Here is the patch for it (it's for the (EU)(M5) rom): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B43Ma_T4utXrc0kySE9kbEV1VGc/view?usp=sharing

Wow that's awesome man I'm honored thank you!! Hopefully someone comes forward and can explain how to change the other 2 sprites. I tried to do it myself with CrystalTile but I've never edited a ds file before and the tutorial to do so had a bunch of different file types so I gave up :/

Would there be an easier way to contact each other? I'm not sure how invested you are in this rom but I'd love to see every trace of Mario to disappear and be replaced with Waluigi. I understand that you are unaware of how to change some aspects of the game, but I've been working on new sprites and would like to share but talking through here seems like responses could take quite a while. Let me know :^D

Edit: I found out how to change the minimap icons!!

You're welcome! And, cool, I've tried messing around with the minimap icons before to try and replace Mario's head sprite, although I was never able to figure out how to correctly get it replace with the tiles and palette and everything. If you find anything out perhaps we could finally exchange Mario's sprites for Waluigi's. Also, maybe an easy way to contact me would be via email, mine is awesomemarrs@gmail.com.

This is what I could find on the minimap sprites.

https://kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?id=2222 is the general thread on minimaps

https://kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?pid=62530#62530 is what I was referred to when I asked how to change the minimap sprites. Like I said, I'm a noob at this stuff so I'm not really sure what this all means but maybe you would know. (The entire thread is about the topic so if you're confused just scroll up to the top and read the first post)

Also, is there a way to remove Peaches voice during the very start of the game? Or can it be modified? If you could modily it, you could send me the voice file and I could edit out her saying Mario's name. And I think you can edit the text in her letter correct? Not sure if the letter is an image or just a text file. If it's an image I can edit it to say Waluigi instead. If all of that is too much of a hassle, I found a way to skip the entire cutscene >> https://kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?pid=62560#62560

Last thing, once you jump into a painting, you have the screen where you have to choose which star you want to retrieve. Do you know how to change the image on that? I have an edited version with waluigi's face but I'm sure my version isn't correctly sized. Could you help me find the original images dimensions?

Other than that I can't think of any other thing in the game that could really be changed except for a Waluigi hat that Yoshi can pick up in various places. Hmmmm

Hmm yeah, I'm not really an expert on all of those things such as the minimaps and I do think the sprite replacing is still a bit complicated even when I look at the tutorial. Perhaps I would be able to figure it out, but it just takes a lot of work if you know what I mean. However, what I do know how to do is replace the character's face from the star/level select screen, since I've done it before. The image dimensions I believe are 128x128.

Amazing. This is how SM64DS was intended to be played.

• Nadia: makes her BQFX file an AJ7
• SuperHackio: questions what that is
<~StapleButter> the AJ7 is an automatic rifle model based on the well-known AK47

The L is rotated 180° when it should be flipped vertically.

Cool! So you figured out how to replace the character select screen? That Waluigi pic definitely looks better than the old one I used.
