The Russia narrative is absolute garbage. Business deals with them are most likely corruption, but they're not treasonous, and the fact that only Trump is being targeted in this manner when both parties engage in corrupt dealings with domestic and foreign oligarchs proves that this is just politically-motivated. Meanwhile, absolutely no evidence exists for Russia "hacking the election", and the supposed evidence that has been trotted out makes it seem less likely to be Russia. Not only would Pence be worse than Trump (a religious extremist who can actually get stuff done), there are unlikely to be any legitimate grounds to impeach Trump.

I think this whole Russia thing is really a distraction and I really don't know why the Democrat establishment are fixating on that when the healthcare and environment issues, I feel, are easier targets to criticize the Republicans on.

And even if Trump is impeached, the impeachment is not going to carry through Republican-dominated Congress. Party loyalty is too much.

Actually our Russian friends tried to influence French campaign by pirating Macron's campaign emails and joining blatant fakes to the mix. Well, it didn't work but still.

It's called, Mainstream Propaganda.
They did everything to make you vote for a fishy Macron, and it's what happened.
So in fact, it did work.

I'd call it a load of bullshit.

how to get elected, in a few simple steps:

1. promote the local far-Right party, mainly by shooting down all other parties that stand a chance.
2. if it worked, you're in for the second round against the far-Right party.
3. pull the "omg we must block fascism!!!!!!" card.
4. congrats, you won the election!

it's a recurrent pattern. and it's not new, an old example would be Mitterrand promoting the FN because he wasn't sure he would get reelected.

How do you know that Russia was the one who hacked Macron's emails? The fact that there was Cyrillic metadata left behind, as if Russia is the only one who could do that?

The CIA is able to make hacks seem like they come from somewhere else, so yeah...

I just think that this 2016 election was just a big game... Two-party system's so overrated now... Let's try a third-party president. I heard of a few third-party people running on the Governer level.

I'm sure everyone's ready for a third-party president, or at least I am. Unless we get a Libertarian... Then we're sunk.

And Staples, how'd you become so global about things?

I call bullshit. Macron was elected because the two mainstream parties manage to elect respectively an embezzler and an under-shit, which are in their respective parties the most extremists. Basically he had luck. And for now, he's doing a good job. He's fuckibg up the Socialist and Republican parties :P

This shows well how our 'representative democracy' systems are running out of steam.

Of course he's doing a good job for now, he hasn't done anything yet, besides picking his government team :P

It's said that he will start changing shit during the Summer, when protests are reduced to their minimum, and he will use the 49.3. Well, time will tell. I don't believe it will be the """"""revolution"""""" he is claiming, though.

On a positive side, he might make it simpler to launch a start-up, that kind of things.

Oh and he wants to build the Notre-Dame des Landes airport, which makes all ecology claims void.

His approach on that is interesting though. He wants to send a mediator there and give them 6 months to convince the zadists. Haha. Good fucking luck.

Hell, some of the eviction orders for that project expired a while ago :P

so they went and burned a slaughterhouse in Greece.

things are heating up in Greece. ok it's been that way for a while now, but it's really dire.

 industrial slaughter is awful and needs to die. like anything industrial.
 appears this was conducted by vegan extremists. you know, those who want to convert everybody to veganism. they're full of shit.

Well, he won't use the 49.3, he'll use 'ordonnances', which basically means Part 1, the Parliament allows him to do that, Part 2, hos majority votes every single law he proposes directly. But honestly I'm sick of a particular syndicate (the CGT) who always do strikes and everything without wanting to discuss.

Arisotura

there's a reason they have to go that far :P

Actually, I hope Macron's gvt manages to pass all their laws, so people can see the effects of it before complaining.

it's legit, but you know how it goes

you can typically infer the effects of a law before it's passed

also burp

Trump is going to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

You know you dun effed up when even business leaders, including those from Exxon Mobile, think it's a bad idea.

it's a bad idea for PR: the Paris climate agreement serves to calm down those who worry about global warming.

that's about it.

Well, what else can people do? This is action. I understand that Nicaragua didn't sign because it wasn't a binding deal, but Paris agreement is a step in the right direction, and I think it's a miracle that we got 200 countries together and negotiate what we should do about global warming.

Even Republican Senators and Trump's economical advisors said him it was a bad idea.
