Yeah, Lubba should be the technical expert on the ship. You'd find him sitting in front of a bunch of monitors controlling the computer systems. That would explain why he's so fat, and also open up opportunities for computer and programmer-related jokes.

Okay, just going to pop in here and offer my thoughts: No toad brigade additional members. They're fine the way they are. A running gag could be funny, it doesn't need to be a "joke" perse, but maybe just something like every time we encounter the toads, their ship has been busted in some way, or one of the members is always missing, something like that.

I actually think it's a good idea, especially if NWP's "Cosmic Toads" are implemented.
Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

Right, when I said running joke I didn't mean a straightforward joke. Your description of it as a running gag explains what I was going for better than I explained it :P

Back in the Coastline Cavern

"Hey, Mario, our Captain is a horrible shroompilot, so our ship crashed for the 6th time and 5 of our members are missing. Can you go look for them, like, again?" -Blue Toad
"Screw you Toad, I'm taking a fucking vacation from this shit" -Mario

I wonder if anybody would NOT agree with this idea
