For example, it appears I'm responsible for people hating RVL.

Damn it, they saw through me. I totally brainwash people into attacking that board.


They're also considering archiving the board. It would be their first intelligent decision in ages.

anyway, a fun timeline of RVLution:

albeit without dates because I'm lazy. but the message remains the same: RVLution has always been fucked up.

* RVLution is created by a team of hackers/scenepeople as a general Wii/PS3/whatever hacking site. Treeki is into it because NSMBW hacking is being developed. fun fact: NSMBW hacking is also posted at Jul, it's perceived as amazing and having the potential to bring masses of people. however, as far as Jul is concerned, it never happens.

* RVLution staff is a giant joke, with staff members who pretty much do their own thing. just because people are competent hackers or whatever doesn't make them good staff.

* Newer is worked on. the staff is either busy working on it or gone, there's little to no moderation.

* I'm hired as a moderator, try to rule the utter mess. I make Blargboard public so Treeki can proceed to switch, replacing the godawful phpBB. Post layouts need to be disabled because people are fucking idiots. The derpboard craze begins.

* I get sick of it, leave with the StapleRant. Around that time, megazig is appointed as an admin. Runs the place like North Korea. Promotes people by what looks like arbitrary decisions. Closes registrations with a message saying to "try again later". Then lets it rot without telling anyone anything.

* By the time, all the founders of RVLution are long gone. Aaron only does the bare minimum required to keep the board running, its state doesn't matter. Omega comes back (called by megazig due to IRC drama), but all he does is be a derp and gloat about his homosexuality.

* I come back, cause drama. 'RVLution III' sparks from it. I'm the one talking to Treeki and getting the thing done (also means that I'm the one who allowed the people who trashed me to be promoted in the first place). Meanwhile, RoadrunnerWMC's top priority for RVLution III is asking Treeki to make flat versions of the board themes.

* MrRean and I are the ones doing things and pushing for staff communication. The remaining staff (RoadrunnerWMC, Grop and the old leftover staff) basically stick to the old RVLution standards, doing their own thing or just doing nothing.

* We get sick of it. You know how it goes from this point. This gets into all the drama in great detail, also including the IRC drama.

From this point on, nothing has gotten better. Omega is barely active and doesn't give a shit about the board or anything. Aaron only gets out from under his rock when the board is down. Treeki does nothing besides tweeting crap all day long. The other RVLution founders are still long gone.


tl;dr RVLution has always been a giant joke.

The state of the NSMBW scene doesn't help, either. Or ROM hacking in general. It was a thing of the 2000s, it's not as trendy now.



The only positive action we can take is pulling the plug. By not consuming energy to run RVLution, we might save the Earth from global warming!
