Hello everyone! I actually might be coming here more often for the next couple of weeks since I got a lot of free time. Might be trying to make youtube videos again so if anyone wants to be in a "Super Smash Bros. Wii U - NSK vs. _______" video lemme know! (Also Mario Kart as well and stuff like that)
Edit- Shit, my shitty ass laptop can't do shit, so I'm gonna have to fix my old computer to even go on the IRC or use any of the programs I used to have... (Geez resurrecting NSK is a lot of hard ass work)

Well, let's see:

The gender of that Pikachu in Smash Bros. has not been disclosed. Therefore, by not knowing if they are male or female, the logical thing to do would be to use words like "they," "them," "it," etc, but "it" is probably not as applicable since people don't like to be referred as an "it," or object of some sort.

It's okay to refer to Pokemon as "it". <.< And people who don't like being called "it", that's too bad, we refer to nonhuman animals as "it" too.

"It" really should've been the singular gender-neutral pronoun, to be honest. The problem is that it's a cultural thing to not like being called an "it".

I don't know about Pokemon having a gender. They technically do, but you have species like Tauros and the Hitmon line.

we prefer to preserve the original usernames, and sometimes add a title poking fun at them
